The Step Brother

"Stassi! If you don't get your ass up, I'll tell your brother we'll take him to play put-put tonight!" I hear my best friend Maci yell at me from the kitchen.

I quickly sat up after I realized what tonight was. We were going to our first official high school party. We've been to a few kickbacks this year but I and Maci don't count them as parties. Tonight is our first rager. Maci didn't really want to go since we have to sneak out but I'm definitely not missing the first rager of the year and I'm not going alone. By the way, no we're not freshmen. We were just really boring during our freshmen year. We're sophomores.

"I'm up!" I yell back at Maci while throwing on an oversized hoodie and a heading downstairs. When I got downstairs, Maci was eating a bowl of Fruity pebbles and watching Awkward. This is her usual. She stays at my house a lot. She never talks about it but I know that it's because her dad is still a little messed up from her mom's death. She died when Maci was only 12.

"Finally. It's like 11 o'clock." Maci said with a mouth full of Fruity Pebbles.

"It's Saturday. Sorry for liking my weekend sleep."

"Shit!"

"What? Did you forget what day it is again?" I asked trying not to laugh.

"I know what day it is. I DON'T know what we're wearing tonight though!"

"Already covered. My mom's new boyfriend is LOADED so she gave me her credit card."

"OH! EM! GE! We HAVE to go shopping!"

"Let's go then." I said while searching for my keys.

The first store we went to had cute clothes but nothing for ragers.

"We should go to that store we went to for our bikinis." Maci said while messing with the radio.

"I don't think we should wear bikinis tonight. If you haven't realized, it's the middle of winter."

"Just trust me and drive." She said with a smirk.

"If this ends up being another waffle place, I'm going to slap you so hard you'll be speaking broken English."

"Awwwww. Look who's trying to sound tough." She said in a mocking voice. I couldn't help but laugh at the faces she made.

Once she found a radio station that wasn't playing something from 2000 and forever ago, we were at the boutique.

"Okay, we're here. Now what?" I asked.

"Follow me." Said as while getting out of the car.

I followed her into the store and straight to a room in the back. It was like a completely different world back there. There were so many cute outfits. The room was filled with clothes that would look even cuter at the rager tonight.

"How did you find out about this?" I asked in shock

"I'm way too nosey." Maci said with a giggle.

"oh my gosh! look at these jeans!" I held up the most amazing pair of jeans Ive ever laid my eyes on.

we spent hours trying on clothes. afterwards, we went back to my house to wait for my mom and little brother, Cooper to get home.

"Stassi! Maci! come down here for a minuet!" I heard my mom yell while she was coming into the house.

when we got downstairs, Cooper was playing his Xbox and my mom was talking to some guy.

"who's your friend? " I asked.

"Stassi, this is Adam. he's the guy I was telling you about." she said with a slight smile.

after we had fiber with my mom, Cooper, and Adam, maximum and I went to my room to "watch movies". we needed to leave in about 4 hours so we had plenty of time to get ready. it only took maci a hour to get ready but I needed almost 3 hours. you can't blame a girl for wanting to look good. and hey, you never know when you'll see a cute guy.

About a hour before we left, we put our hair up in towels, put on our robes, and went to tell my mom that we were "going to bed". Adam was still here.

"dont you have kids?" i heard Maci ask him while i was telling my mom that we were going to bed early.

"Auctually, I have a son. He's about your age. Maybe a little older. He's out with some friends tonight though." He said.

"oh." Maci replied then she did a little fake yawn and said she was heading to bed. I then quickly followed. We waited about 30 minuets then we started to sneak out. We used my balcony door to sneak out and we were planning on using the front door to sneak back in since everyone would be asleep by the time we get home.

It took us a little over 10 minuets to get to there. When we walked in, it was amazing.

"I'm thirsty. Lets go grab a drink." Maci said while pulling me towards the bar.

Everything after that was a blur.
