Finding Me (part 2)

We've been driving for hours and Avery was quiet the entire drive. It was around 1am and I wasn't tired but the car was almost out of gas and we were in the middle of nowhere...

     Avery who was staring out her window, looked over at me and asked,"Where are we going Sky?"

     I glanced over at her for a moment then looked at the road again, I hesitated another moment then said,"The one place we can find out what is happening to me... Home!"

    We drove past many trees and after awhile came upon a gas station, luckily I had some cash with me so I paid for gas and got some food and drinks. Then I got into the car again and drove off down the road. It was a back road so I was speeding to get to where I needed to go faster! I had a phone with me and I pulled it out of my pocket to see that people were trying to call me and I had a bunch of unread text messages... I opened something from my mother! It said... "Sky I hope you know I love you no matter what happens but I need you to not come home right now!"

     Why would she tell me not to come home? I texted her asking,"What's wrong? Why can't I come home? I'm already on my way! Also I'm bringing Avery!"

     I looked up to see a shadow in the middle of the road. Swerving to miss it I ran off the road and the car flipped... We landed in a swamp that wasn't deep enough for us to drown. As the car slammed to a stop my head hit the steering wheel and sleep over came my body.

     "Emma," I heard a voice speak. I tried to ask who was there but when I opened my mouth words wouldn't come out!

"Emma," I heard the voice say again.

So I screamed as loud as I could asking,"Who's Emma?"

To my surprise the voice answered my question,"You are Emma!"

     How am I Emma my name is Skylar White, not Emma?! I thought to myself. Then as if the strange voice had read my mind it spoke,"Emma is your name, you are not human! You were a failed experiment!" My eyes started to swell and I was getting angry, I am not an experiment and I have a family that loves me. Nothing can ever take that away from me!

"A failed experiment, huh!" I said,"If I'm a failed experiment then why am I still alive?"

"You are not alive... Or you won't be!"

"Sky, Sky, Skylar!" I woke up to Avery screaming my name.

     I looked at her and saw that we were no longer in the car but on the side of the road! She had blood dripping down her forehead, for what I could see she looked fine other than the little bit of blood, my vision was blurry so I didn't see much. 'Why did I go off the road' was the question I kept asking myself.

     I looked over to Avery, she was crying so I pulled her into a hug forgetting everything that just happened!

"We have to grab supplies from the car!" I told Avery.

     She looked at me, then stood up and headed towards the car. She wasn't crying anymore, but she looked tired. Grabbing bags and stuffing them with food I walked over to my sister and handed her a bag. My phone caused me to almost kill my sister, so I kept it in the car! There was a message so I opened it, after I read the words I smashed my phone! We got everything we needed that was important, after I looked at the car for a minute we walked into the woods.

       "We're waiting for you, in the sky!"
