Chapter 1

Watchtower, 5:15 p.m.

The team was relaxing in the Watchtower. No mission had come up yet, but then, most of theirs happened after dark. Batgirl and Red Robin were sparring with Kid Flash (Bart) and Blue Beetle watching. They were trying to pick up pointers on hand-to-hand combat. Everyone else was on Earth doing whatever it was they did in their spare time. Batgirl back-handspring-ed out of the way of Red Robin's flying kick, responding with a punch of her own.

Suddenly, an alarm sounded from the holo-computer. Batgirl hurried over to see what the problem was, but Aqualad beat her there. "Team, there is a temporal anomaly in what appears to be Bludhaven. Batgirl, do you think that he would let us in?"

She started, still not really used to being asked questions. "Maybe people without abilities, so me and Red. Tigress maybe? I'd have to ask him."

Kaldur nodded. "You three will go and investigate, but I'm sending M'gann and Superboy in with you. You may need backup since we do not know what is causing the anomaly."

She growled slightly. "Fine, but they stay back. Nightwing may not like them in his city."

"Understandable. Head to Bludhaven. They will meet you there." Batgirl nodded and started heading toward the Zeta Tubes. She beckoned Red Robin. "Come on. We got a mission."

"Yes!" He looked around. "Who else is coming?"

She sighed, "Were you not listening at all to the mission briefing?"

"Umm.." He at least had the decency to look a bit ashamed.

"Red!" She muttered something under her breath. "I'll tell you when I tell the others. Come on." They vanished into the bright light of the Zeta.
