As soon as I seen their red glimmering eyes through the window, I dashed out of the run down café placing down some money on my table and then running for my life. Literally. I had seen them in many of my previous visions. They stalked the night and they LOVED to kill. My long rusty red hair slipped out of its pony tail and swam through the air as I ran. I bolted around the corner, heading towards my home. I glanced behind me to see they weren’t following me so I turned back around and sighed in relief. I was still trying to piece together why I was having visions of the night murderers. I was always surrounded by them but nothing ever made sense. I would always wake up before seeing their leader turn around so I had no idea what he looked like, only that he had blond hair.
The moon raised high in the sky and cast a glow on everything that surrounded me. I walked around the corner onto my street and let out another sigh of relief. I had made it.
“Hello child” a musical male voice said from behind me. Ok, maybe not. I turned around as quick as I could to face a deathly pale male with blood red eyes. My eyes widened and I was prepared to scream but somehow something was stopping me from getting help. “Don’t be scared. I only want to ask you a question”
I looked him fiercely in the eyes. I will not back down and be a wimp. It just wasn’t like me. “Leave me alone”
“I'm afraid that’s not possible. Do you value your life child?”
“What?” I asked taken back. He smiled evilly down at me
“Wrong answer” then he lunged for me. I quickly ducked and kicked my foot out into his shin. The pale guy hissed at me. He friging hissed at me! For Christ sake, who does that?
“Ah no. I didn’t answer you, dead guy. I do value my life so leave me alone” I said and began to walk away. Suddenly hands gripped my waist and pulled me back. I went to scream but it was muffled as dead guy gripped his hand around my mouth. He pulled me across the street and into the bush land on the other side. I kept kicking and trying to punch him but I always missed. We had been walking for 10 minutes now and were deep into the bush or forest you could call it now.
“You smell delicious” dead guy said sniffing. That’s just plain creepy.” Be still child.” I fell limp in his arms but not by my own will. It felt as If someone was controlling me. “Good. Be still in my arms. Enjoy the pleasure of my touch”
“Let me go you good for nothing dead person or ill… ill get my rainbow penguins on you!” ok. So that wasn’t the smartest thing I could say but hey? I said something didn’t I? He chuckled and turned me around to face him. At this moment did I only realize how beautiful he looked? It was like his features were carved from the finest marble. He had dimples when he laughed too. His hair was a chocolate color and was tousled about in the wind. The only thing that made him threatening was how pale he was and his pure red eyes.
“My name is James. You are quiet the lady. Such a shame you will not be breathing in five minutes” I looked up at him with wide eyes and he just smiled. Fangs extracted from his teeth and I swear my eyes were going to pop out at any moment. “Such beauty”
He placed his hand on my shoulder and looked down at my neck. His eyes widened and his pupils dilated. He brought his mouth to my neck and licked it. Then he bit into me and I screamed a blood curling scream. I struggled against him but it was no use. He was way too strong for me.
What a way to die. I would never see my seven brothers or my dad again. I wish I was never sent away to boarding school. I wish I never burnt the principles car and got expelled. Hey, it was a good idea at the time. I was a rebel, yes but everyone did something stupid once in their life. Ok I did stupid things everyday but that was me.
James was literally sucking my life out. And it hurt. I kept screaming and struggling even though I knew I would die either way. I started to feel weak and I fell limp, not being able to find the strength to struggle. My vision was getting clouded and it was harder to see. I fell against James shoulder defeated and he placed his arm around my waist.
“it’s nearly over child. The pain will go away soon” he kissed me on the lips and then bit into my neck again. I moaned in pain. I hate karma.
Suddenly he jerked away from me. I dropped face first to the ground and just lay there, my eyes shut.
“Why do you rouges always have to go around killing people?” I heard a male voice ask.
“Because we need to survive” James snarled in reply.
“It’s not very nice. Killing others just so you can live. Better one life then many.”
“Like I care” James said. “Surviving is the only thing I think about”
I felt a presence next to me and I tried to look up but I couldn’t.
“Leave her alone! She’s mine!” James hissed.
“I’m afraid not buddy. She’s dead anyway. Same as you will be.”
I heard a blood curling scream and struggling.
“Stupid rouges”
“Poor thing. Had no chance against the rouge” the person beside me said. I felt fingers on my neck and I flinched away, scared that they were going to hurt me too. I opened my eyes just in time to see the man fall back on his butt looking at me wide eyed. Man if I wasn’t hurt laying on the ground right now I would be laughing my ass off but all I could do was give a slight smile. He seemed to notice as his eyes looked like they were about to pop out. “She’s alive!”
“What?”
“She’s alive and she is looking at me and smiling!”
I felt an arm slip around my waist and under my knees and then I was being picked up. I closed my eyes and flinched away with the strength I had left. “Don’t be afraid. We’re not going to hurt you. You’re safe now”
“We need to leave now and get her to the safe house. She’s bleeding a lot” I opened my eyes and looked into the eyes of the person who saved me. He had long black hair that was tied at the nape of his neck. He looked part Asian but not at the same time.
“Your safe” were the last words I heard before I slipped into unconsciousness.
