Hello to all of my faithful readers! To you all: Thank you so much for all your comments! Please, please, please feel free to comment! I love hearing your input, plus it pushes me to write longer, faster, better chapters. You see? We both win :)
Anyways, I'll cut to the chase: I'm trying to drag this out as long as possible, but I have to warn you not to expect more than 12-15 chapters. Sorry, don't hate me! I don't want to make this boring, so I can't imagine having it be any longer than that amount.
On the other hand, if anyone has an idea for the story, let me know and I'll try to incorporate it! Capiche?
I don't own Glee, CC, DC, RM, etc. Enjoy and COMMENT!

Chris was finally the one to break eye contact.
"I...I'm sorry..." he stuttered disjointedly. His hands fluttered everywhere; his eyes darted all over the bathroom except to me. Finally, I took pity on him. I grabbed his hands and forced them to stop moving. Carefully, I released my hold on his arms when they ceased struggling against me and moved my hands to his chin. Slowly, I rotated his head so that he was forced to look at me again. He immediately averted his eyes to the floor. I sigh.
"Chris. Look at me." No response. "Hey, now, we're supposed to be--well, if not boyfriends, then at least romantic interests--and if you can't handle simple eye contact with my sheer awesomeness, then, I guess you'll have to quit!" I joked. He eventually looked up, but his eyes didn't show humor, as I'd hoped. They revealed a deep inner pain, suffering, and turmoil. I immediately realized that I'd effectively misread the situation, and therefore, used the wrong type of tension relief.
"That's not funny, Darren," he said after deliberating for a minute.
"Geez, I'm sorry, okay? I just wanted to lighten the mood a little." I tried to apologize.
"Darren, that's your problem. You can't take things seriously! We really need to talk about what happened!"
"Chris, honestly, what is there to talk about? So we had intense eye contact. We're in a very confined space; it's not unusual for that to happen!" I exclaimed, not really understanding the big deal.
"But you see, Darren, it is unusual for us. I sure as hell don't know why, but it is, yet it happened here today. Maybe...maybe this isn't going to work after all."
I knew he didn't mean it--we're both high-strung people, and we were in the middle of an argument. But I was hurt; he was the one who first wanted me to come to Glee! Now he's saying it can't work? What a hypocrite! I couldn't help my face falling.
Chris instantly softened.
"Dare. C'mon. I'm sorry. I just...my temper got the better of me. I apologize. I didn't mean it. We cool?"
I couldn't stay mad at this man. Slowly, to make him worry a bit, I formed a half-grin to say yes. He smiled back.
"But still, I need some time to think. You seem pretty well cleaned off, and I can take care of myself. I think...I think you should leave, Darren. Goodbye," he said.
I respected his wishes, but it felt like he was saying goodbye for good. And that made me feel worse than any slushie or insult, because he was the one person I didn't want to say goodbye to, ever.
