A basic and crappy guide to tumblr:

First, you make an account. You basically go to tumblr.com and enter your email, password and URL or something, if I remember correct.

Make your username special. Like, mine is RainbowsAndFedordas, how special is that?

Second, you decide whether you want to actually make a popular blog, or just FOLLOW popular blogs and laugh and be addicted and shit.

I am the second.

But I sometimes write on my blog and repost and shiz. You just click customize I'm pretty sure.

Okay, AS SOON AS YOU MAKE YOUR ACCOUNT IT WILL TAKE YOU TO YOUR DASHBOARD (home) AND A MESSAGE WILL POP UP SAYING IT'S YOUR DASHBOARD OR SOMETHING.

There is a short tutorial, I think.

Seriously, just click the plus (meaning follow) on completely random blogs until tumblr is happy.

Okay, after that tutorial is done and you've confirmed your email and stuff, your dash will have all the posts and pictures of the people you just followed. Since you hopefully just clicked randomly and you don't want those on your dash, look to your right at the word 'Account'.  Underneath will be 'following blogs' and 'find blogs'.

Click 'following blogs'. It will take you to another page. There'll be an unfollow button. Click them, and boom, clear dash.

Now, deciding what you want on your blog is easy.

Just go up to the search box, and type in whatever you want. The books you read, the bands you listen to. Type in the word 'funny' or something if you're looking for a blog that posts funny shite.

You'll be redirected to the search page, which will have blogs up the top that are to do with your particular interest. If you feel spontaneous then just click the plus on every one.

Underneath those are the actual posts some people have made tagged (hashtagged, I don't have to explain that, it's simple) with your interest, and going with my example, it will be tagged '#funny' or something (you hover your mouse over the picture to see the URL of the person who posted or reblogged it, and the tags along the bottom).

Just do that.

A lot.

And when you get back on the next day, if you've followed enough blogs (I've followed 120), then your dash will be full of lovely things.

Set your dash on endless scroll, though I think it's automatic, and then you can scroll through tumblr and fangirl and laugh and shiz.

Easy.

Oh, and if you like something, you just click the heart. Click it again if you have the coldness to take away your love.

Reblog (the arrows that look like dey be chasing each other) is a way for those hidden-in-the-shadows-and-not-blogging people to basically save things forever, since it'll be on your blog unless you delete it.

That's it, I think?

I typed this at 11pm for two friends of mine, so you better be frickin pleased with my education-lacking guide.

WARNING: WHEN YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO, AND YOU ARE FOLLOWING THE RIGHT BLOGS, YOU WILL PROBABLY BECOME ADDICTED TO TUMBLR. SORRY.
