Chapter 1
It was 6:30 in the morning; Toshiko sat in the recording studio, waiting for Nakata to arrive. She yawned and swizzled round in the spinning chair, fiddling with the wires that surrounded her. She placed Nakata's headphones on her head and imitated him. She giggled, pretending to tap on the key board. "Ah......Nakata must have so much fun". Suddenly the door to Nakata's studio creaked open. Toshiko jumped and quickly returned Nakata's headphones to the desk; whilst falling off of the chair. She was sprawled out on the floor, wires wrapped around her feet. Nakata stared at her, "Ummm...are you..ok?", he questioned. Toshiko nodded and spoke in an awkward tone, "Yes, i am ok.....i was just...err....checking all of the wires were plugged in". Nakata helped her up. "We have a busy day today", he said as he sat down. He stared at his earphones, they were out of place. "Eh..........Toshiko, have you been playing around with my earphones?", he stared at her. She blushed and looked at the floor, awkwardly rubbing her arm, "Yes......i was just being silly......i was interested in the quality and design of them". Nakata laughed, "Haha ok, just make sure you do not break them, ok?", said Nakata, placing them on top of his speakers. Toshiko nodded. "Hey Toshiko, i made a few tracks last night after you went home, come and listen to them and tell me what you think", smiled Nakata, tapping the chair next to him. Toshiko sat down next to him. He handed her his earphones, "Here, listen to it with these, nothing can distract you that way". Toshiko took the earphones from Nakata and placed them on her head. She started tapping her foot and bobbing her head to the beat of the music. Nakata watched her reaction and smiled. Toshiko glanced at him and smiled, "This is really good Nakata-kun". "Thank you", replied Nakata. Toshiko gave him a thumbs up and continued listening to the tracks until the end.
Toshiko gently took the ear phones off of her head and swiveled round to face Nakata. She placed the ear phones into his hands. "Nakata-kun, my ears just went to heaven and back!", cheered Toshiko. "Oh wow, you like the new tracks; i am glad", smiled Nakata, his tone slightly excitable. Toshiko picked up Nakata's song book. "Ah so these songs are called, Timeless Love, Zombie and sweet addiction". Nakata nodded, "Yes, i decided to make them last night when you and the other staff went home". "What time were you here until?", questioned Toshiko. "1:00 AM.....i kind of slept in late this morning so i was not punctual when i arrived here haha", replied Nakata. "Oh my....1:00 am, you should go home and get more sleep; i can do the vocals on my own, due to the tracks already being done", said Toshiko, looking at a tired Nakata. He shook his head, "No it's ok...we have a sample singer in today and i need him to sing in a specific way", replied Nakata, bowing in gratitude. "Ok, but please go to sleep if you need to", begged Toshiko. Nakata nodded, "I will, remember, i don't do something if i don't want to", smiled Nakata. "Yes i know, it is a good attitude to have", laughed Toshiko. "Who is the sample singer...?", questioned Toshiko, looking into the recording room. "I don't know, i just said i needed a sample singer and the company are sending him to me at 10:00am", replied Nakata. Toshiko nodded, "Ok, what songs will i be singing?". Nakata smiled at her, "All of them, i need the sample singer mainly for the rap parts of my new song zombie". "Ok, that's cool", smiled Toshiko, swiveling in her chair, like a playful child.
"It is so dark outside", remarked Nakata, pulling the blinds open. "Well it is to be expected, it is December", replied Toshiko, still swiveling in her chair. "Can i use your laptop Nakata?". "Yes", replied Nakata, "Do you know the password". Toshiko nodded, "Yes, you must have told me like 100 times already", she pouted. She tapped on the keys and logged on to the laptop, searching for Perfume songs. She clicked on baby daijobanai and started singing along. Nakata smiled, "You are quite good at Perfume songs....i will invite them as guest singers in a new song i make. You would sound good singing with them", remarked Nakata, tapping his hand to the beat. "I would like to hear you sing Nakata-kun!", exclaimed Toshiko. "Haha, maybe oneday!", laughed Nakata nervously. Toshiko stood up and ran to the window, "NAKATA, IT IS SNOWING!!", she boomed, her voice full of pure happiness and excitement, "I LOVE THE SNOW, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT!!". Nakata burst out into hysterics at Toshiko's reaction, "Haha anyone would think it was your first time seeing snow!". "Every time i see snow is magical, Christmas has finally arrived!", shouted Toshiko. She jumped into her swivel chair and glided across the room, the chair wheels screeching on the laminate floor. Toshiko tapped on the laptop keys like wild fire. She cranked up the volume to 100% and blasted Perfume's song 'Twinkle snow powdery snow' out of the speakers.
