"I know we've been leaving you on your own a lot, but we didn't want to miss this dinner and I know you like being in your own." Mom went on as she slid into her shoes and pulled a jacket over her. "Mom, I'll be fine."

My parents said a quick goodbye and I was glad to finally have the house to myself. My parents had been invited over to the Hood's household for a meal, like they do all the time so they weren't going to decline. Our parents decided not to let whatever happened between Calum and I effect their friendship.

I made my way into the kitchen and I was halfway through making a bowl of Captain crunch before there was a knock at the door. I sighed and answered it, seeing Luke stood there in wet clothes, only then did I realise it was pouring down with rain.
"Luke, what are you doing?" I asked.
"Can I come inside please?"

I nodded and quickly went to get him a towel and a spare pair of clothes that used to belong to Joe. He thanked me and quickly got changed in the downstairs bathroom.

"So are you going to tell me why you turned up at my house soaking wet or do I have to guess?" I said with my arms folded.

"Willow threw me out. I had nowhere else to go." He spoke sadly.
"Why did she throw you out?"

"Things were going great, you know they were. But recently everything's kind of gone downhill and we hardly even speak to each other anymore. I kissed another girl at a Halloween party last night and she got mad at me."

"Why did you kiss another girl? I thought you loved willow?"

"I did, but not anymore. She's just been ignoring me and I felt really unwanted, you know. I was drunk and I didn't even want to kiss that girl. I just wanted to make willow feel jealous and maybe she'll pay some attention to me."

"You don't need to kiss another girl to get her to pay attention to you." I said, sitting down besides him. "If she's acting like a bitch, maybe her kicking you out was a good thing."
"I thought you told me I should stay with willow? Now you're telling me the opposite." He furrowed his eyebrows in confusion.
"Yeah, well that was before. Back when I was also in love."

"So you're not dating that Calum guy?" He asked.
"I was, it's kind of a long story. I basically overheard him saying something which wasn't what I thought it was but I'm kind of glad we're not together anymore. I'm just free."

"I know how you feel." He smiled. "Would it be totally weird if I kissed you right now?"
"Not at all." I shook my head before he leant forwards and kissed me, his hands wrapping around my waist as he pulled me closer to him, deepening the kiss I didn't ever want to end.
