I always knew this day would come, but not like this! Not without my parents, not without him and certainly not with a horrid person like him, this day he was doomed before it even began. How can I go against her? Not only is she my aunt but she saved me. Why must I go against the one person I swore to protect? I miss the boy I fell in love with all those years ago and coming back I promised myself that I wouldn't let any harm come to him and I promised her that I wouldn't get him involved. Instead of being his friend I'm marrying his enemy.
I missed the days that I didn't have to worry about any of this; I just want everything to go back to how it was all those years ago. Even then this would still be my fate, they were after me not them, they will always be after me until I'm dead. I hate the fact that I had to make a deal with the devil himself. It all started with me and it's going to end with me.
I remember when I found out I wasn't normal the day that will always haunt me. It was meant to be one of the greater days of my life until unfortunate events happened.
It was just like every day I woke up to Casper in my room setting out my breakfast. "Good morning Ly" he said in a cheerful voice. Before I even got chance to reply he started singing happy birthday to me. "Morning Cas, thanks you. So what's the plans for today?" I asked him making my way to the table near the window. While I was staring out of the window Casper started telling me what was happening today.
"Lydia!" My mothers soft voice spoke as she walked into my room. "Me and your farther have a surprise for you" she continued handing me a two boxes. I could only assume that they where a new dress and shoes. "I know you didn't want anything special to happen to day so we decide to have the ball tomorrow. Before I go the dress is for today" she told me "Thank you mom, I love the dress" I replied to her giving her a hug.
"So Casper-" I began to say until he cut me off telling me that he isn't going to tel me the surprise. After he left I began to get dressed in the new dress. I was knee-length navy blue dress with a collar on. Inside the box was a more pastel blue wedged sandals.
After I finished getting dressed I quickly brushed my hair and left it in the usual natural style. I was making my way down the stairs when my eyes locked with the blue crystal like eyes when I tripped on the last few stairs. Lucky the young boy caught me. "Next time watch where your going" he said in a stern voice. Ignoring what he said I followed my mom into the main room.
"It's lovely to see you again Lydia Rose Fairchild" the man said in a amused voice. Clearly he thinks his sons attitude is appropriate. I replied o him when my mom suggested that me and grumpy should take a walk. "Where would you like to go?" I asked the boy in front of me. "Lydia is that a stupid question, I think we should go to our spot." He said in his soft voice blushing slightly. "Okay, patches" I said running off. He's known as patches because of last Halloween. He dressed up as a pirate (he was so adorable) but since then he's been wearing the eye patch a lot saying that it's good fashion.
After the race I was declared the winner as I was first. When I got to the tree house I felt my checks go a pink colour. "You did all of this" I asked the boy in front of me. "Well Casper did most of the layout but it was my idea." He replied blushing like crazy.
We finished eating the food that was set out by Casper and started talking about silly things until he randomly changed his look to being serious. "I... know I don't really have to ask... b..ut I wanted to.. Lydia I want to know if you will be my fiance" he asked and I said yes. We walked back to where our parent's where.
When we got back we where told he they have to go. "Goodbye Lydia" he spoke with a bright voice before kissing my cheek, "Goodbye patches" I replied as he was walking out the door. "Miss Fairchild how was your walk?" my butler asked. I told him about my afternoon until he had to leave to prepare food. I was looking out at the beautiful scenery. All of a sudden a tall black figure dash, like the speed of light, across the courtyard.
I made my way to the kitchen when I was stopped by one of the maids "I'm sorry miss but this isn't a place for a young lady to be in" she told me. Regardless to her telling me that I shouldn't be in the kitchen I continued until I found Casper. My journey came to a stop when I heard "You need to tell her" Casper's voice said with concern evident. "You will not tell me what to do Casper after all your only a butler" my mothers harsh voice replied to him.
I quickly made my way to the corridor, it wasn't until then that I relisted that something wasn't right. I mean why would my mother raise such a harsh voice to her friend? I know it isn't normal to have a close bound with your butler but he was exception. I was brought out of my trance with Casper waving his hand in my face "Miss your dinner's ready" he said before making his way back to the kitchen.
Unlike most nights dinner was quiet, it was as if someone said anything they would be killed. The silence went on for awhile until I excused myself from dinner. I gave them a quick goodnight then went to bed. Casper appeared in my room to ensure I was okay.
I woke up to the smell of an burning odour, I was cautious with getting out of bed, but I did and I made my way to my door. Looking around my room one last time. Within seconds of opening my door I saw the orange flames making there through the endless corridor, it was like they where dancing the darkness away bringing destruction with it. Without any other option I run to my window seeing if there was a ledge I could get to but there wasn't.
I woke up in an unusual room that looked like it was fit for a princess. After recalling the events of the previous night I remember that I was saved by a black figure. I tried to call out but nothing came out, there was a soft knock at the door an a tall man dressed in white told me that the queen was waiting for me.
When I got to the room that man escorted me to I was greeted by the queen herself. " I would love to say good morning but it isn't really good. Now I'm sure your wondering why your here but that's because I was close friends with your mother. The man that saved you brought you here. I wasn't sure what to do but your not safe here. Your too young to understand so I thought that you might want to be sent to live with your aunt in America." She told me and all I could do was nodded I wasn't sure what she was talking about anymore until she said I had to leave and not return until it was safe.
------------------------------------------------------
After 10 years of training and researching about nonsense, I have returned to London from living with my aunt in America and I would love to say it was great however it wasn't. Being forced to move and not know anything that is happening can bring misfortune to someone. While I was spending my time researching I would often look into my past only to be punished.
Now the day has come where I must return to London and act like a I'm a noble Victorian women and yet again forget my past. Instead of using my fighting and logic skills to help make the world a better place I'm expected to act like a some kind of helpless women.
That brings us here to the Mansion of someone I've never met and the owners fiance. Saying it just makes me cringe cause the only memory I have was that prior to mysterious fire. This new guy I'm ment to marry isn't Patches and isn't someone I could grow to love.
A/N : that concludes the first chapter, I'm sorry if there's any mistakes I haven't edited it yet so I will try and do that soon
