"Are you ready to face him? Hindi pweding hindi kita ipakilala sa kanya. Hindi niya alam na hinire kita, so he is clueless."

I smiled to her. Gusto ko siyang makita. It's been five years!

"I am born ready bhabe."

She grinned before leading our way to Calix's office. It's on the top floor. I am nervous and at the same time excited. This is it.

As Gazel knocks the door, my body tense. I was like going to a judgement room. Hindi ko alam na kakabahan ako ng ganito. My heart beats erratically and I almost jumped when I saw him reading reports. Hindi pa siya nakatingin sa banda namin ng bumukas ang pinto. At parang nagslow motion ang lahat ng mapatingin ito sa banda namin. Parang dati lang ng masagi ko ang braso niya. Para akong nanalo sa lotto.

I saw how he stiffened when he saw me. His jaw clenched and I can see the hatred in his eyes. Lalong dumagundong ang dibdib ko sa kaba. I bit my lower lip to suppress my feelings. Damn, he is acting cold. Galit talaga siya sa akin.

Pero hindi ko ginustong iwan siya nang walang pasabi. Kung may choice lang ako at nabigyan ng pagkakataon na makapagpaalam.

"Good afternoon Calix. I just want to introduce our new company engineer," Gazel dragged me inside his office and face him. F-cking shit, I want to ran away!

I cleared my throat and introduced myself. Gazel was grinning beside me. Alam niya na kinakabahan ako at halos hindi na ako makatingin kay Calix dahil sa tindi ng tingin nito.

Nang matapos ko ang introduction ay humilig ito sa kanyang swivel chair at tinitigan ako ng maigi. I saw him nod to Gazel and my best friend left me here without saying a word.

"What the f-ck?" I whispered a curse, making sure that he cannot hear me.

Bakit iniwan niya ako dito? What is the meaning of this?

"Uhh, should I go now?" I asked, hindi alam kung sa akin ko ba itinatanong iyon o sa kanya.

He raised his brows.

"I still have questions Miss Eldefundo before you go."

I cleared my throat and compose my self.

"O-Okay."

He twisted his lips and looked at me with so much rage.

"Where did you finished your college degree?" he asked, while playing his pen. Nakatingin siya sa'kin pero pakiramdam ko ay pinapatay niya ako sa mga titig niya.

"In California State University, Los Angeles."

He shook his head as if something is wrong with my answer.

"Los Angeles...," I heard him muttered.

"You went there without telling anyone?"

My heart crumpled. Hindi ko gustong umalis ng walang pasabi. Alam kong galit siya at nakikita ko iyon sa mga mata niya. Kung may pagkakataon lang akong makapagpaalam ay ginawa ko na pero wala. I was young and I don't have the power to go against my mother.

"Y-Yes."

"Then why did you come back? Is it for good? If not, I will fire you. There's no reason of accepting you here if you will leave again," may diing sabi niya dahilan para mahigit ko ang aking hininga. The tension is damn—ghad!

That's straight to the point. At parang piniga ang puso ko. Fire me?

"I am staying for good and I have the reason to stay."

He looks sideways. Tumayo ito at tumingin sa labas ng bintana. Napayuko ako. I know I hurt him. And I want to say sorry.

"Why did you applied to my company?"

Napapikit ako at huminga ng malalim. I opened my eyes and looked at him with longings, as if he can see it. Nakatalikod siya sa akin.

"Because I want you back Calix."
