I sighed shakily and rubbed my sore neck as I looked down at Deric, who was sleeping beside me. He was on his side, facing me, his dark hair falling into his closed eyes as he breathed small, shallow breaths. His hand was on my knee. He had fallen asleep tracing it when I had told him to lay down for a while after Sebastian and Cam left.

When I had woken up, Deric's brothers were gone, Drew and Lance were watching the news and Sebastian and Cam were getting things ready to go. They had been just about to wake me up so I could get ready too, but saw that I was awake.

"Hey Sammie." Deric murmured as I slowly pushed myself up. He helped me sit and then touched my cheek. I leaned into his hand and closed my eyes with a sigh and then moaned as I touched my neck. "I'm sorry about that Baby. I didn't know that he would at like that. When he has visions, he acts a little different. Normally not that bad, especially because he is very gentle by nature." I smiled sadly and looked at him.

"It's okay. Obviously, seers have different side effects to seeing visions." He breathed a laugh and I swallowed. "Can I get some water please?" Drew got up before the rest of them could and went over to the sink. He grabbed a plastic cup that someone had bought and put some water in it, then brought it over to me. I thanked him quietly and drank some of it. My throat felt like sandpaper.

"So... I'm not completely sure what I am, but I am sure that It's not normal, right?" I looked at Sebastian. "I mean, seriously, I have never heard of a witch being burned by silver." I looked at Deric, who was looking at me with a raised brow. "Yeah, don't think I forgot about that. Just because I haven't asked about it or freaked again, doesn't mean that I have forgotten about it." He took my glass and drank a little of the water and I raised a brow at him now with a small smile. He winked at me and then set it aside on the bedside table.

"Well." He said slowly. "I'm not sure what I can tell you without you... freaking out and honestly, I don't think I need to just yet with the way you still are. I want to make sure that all that euphoric is gone before I tell you those things." I watched him a moment.

"Was my mom a witch?" I asked quietly. "Because Dad is human." He was quiet. I smiled a little and looked down. "Yeah, I figured as much. You know... I don't even look like him." Deric tensed. "I've never said it out loud, but I've suspected. And that day that I found you guys talking at the table about my mother..." I looked at Sebastian. "I don't want to think that my mother would have done such a thing-"

"She murdered my family Sam." I flinched as Lance spoke up from the couch. "Of course she would have the guts to cheat on your father."

"Dad." Deric breathed and I sighed. "Will you stop being such an asshole? I am so tired of you putting her down for something she didn't do and didn't even know about. She is not her mother."

"Come on Sam. We need to get going." Sebastian whispered. "I'm sure your Dad will answer any questions you have when we get there, okay." I sighed, but nodded and slowly got up. Deric stood too and went over to the bookbags we had. He grabbed one and brought it over to me. "We have three hours." Sebastian said. "Long enough for you to take a shower and get ready and for us to get there."

"Okay. I'll be out in a few minutes." I said and walked over to the bathroom. I felt Lance's eyes on me as I passed him and was a little worried he might just use his vampire speed and grab me and do something to hurt me, but I made it to the bathroom without him doing so. I closed the door and turned on the water before I stripped out of my clothes and got in.
