Love is such a general term
And I wish it weren't so vague
They say it's a powerful word
But how when it means so little?
Love does not instantly mean romance,
But it's also filled with lust
Of course it's possible to love a friend
But where can you draw the line?
I can say I love so many things,
My friends, my partner or even my phone,
Yet all mean different things.
It's an insult to my partner,
If I love her like my phone,
But it's weird for my friend,
If I love her like my girl.
I wish this language was better
So hard to learn but not much to say
All the terms you want don't exist
And take too long to explain.
In the end there's nothing I can do,
Love is love yet nothing at all,
Love means nothing and everything,
But let me tell you something:
There is a meaning for love,
One that applies to us all
Love has meaning and so do you
Something I love has meaning to me
So please remember this:
You mean so much to me.
I love you.
