As Paula looked at the man's back she knew exactly who it was. He placed her on the couch in the family room, a couple feet away from where he picked her up. As he sat down next to her, she started giving him dirty looks. A lot of questions were running through her head, but there was only one that she really wanted to know the answer to. The other questions consisted of how he got here so fast and if he saw Rob outside, anywhere.
"Why did you have to pick me up like that, Si? You had me terrified not only for my life but for my daughters' life as well. And I think that my heart skipped a few beats."
"I'm sorry love, I couldn't resist it," Simon replied smiling as she slapped him very hard on the shoulder. "So what did you need me for?" He said while rubbing his bruised left shoulder with his right hand.
"It's a long and painful story but right now all I need is for you to get us out of this house as soon as possible."
"Come here love," Simon said as he put his strong and protected arms over her and made her feel so safe in his arms.
Just then a loud crash made them come back into reality. They were still sitting on the couch in the family room with two innocent girls that needed to be protected right now.
"So where are they?"
"Lily is upstairs packing and I haven't seen Holly since they left for school this morning."
"Alright, did you call the police?"
"Yeah I called them before I called you."
"Good girl, I love you."
"Oh whatever but I love you too."
As he got to the second floor, he saw a sweet little girl with tears in her eyes.
He got down on her level. "Hey Lily, are you okay sweetheart?"
"I'm fine, but Holly's not," Lily replied worried about her.
"Why isn't she okay, darling?"
"Well our real Dad is outside and she wants to be with him. But Mom is always telling us how horrible he is as a Dad. I think that she wants to find out herself if he is a bad Dad or not. And I'm really scared because he might take my sister away and he might hurt her," Lily said lowering her head.
"No, we won't let him hurt Holly, right?" Simon said looking into Lily's painful eyes and she nodded. "So where is she?"
"Um the last place I remember seeing her, she was in her room," Lily said.
"Okay thanks, sweetheart. When you get done packing I want you to go downstairs to you mother, okay?" Simon said. Lily nodded again as she went back to packing. "Good girl."
He walked to a door on the other end of the hallway that had a large "H" stuck to the door. He knocked before he entered. As Holly heard someone knock on her door she thought that it was her Mom, and there was no way that she was going to leave her room. So she grabbed her bag that had some of her personal items and half of her closet stuffed inside. She quickly ran into the bathroom and locked both of the doors that either led to her room or Lily's. As he entered her room he saw clothes everywhere on the floor. She was here somewhere, he knew it. There were a few photo albums and video scattered all over her bed. He knew for a fact that she was up to something but had no idea what it was.
As he looked out of her window he saw a man who looked about his age. He was carrying a ladder that could reach the second level easily. He knew he had to do something before something really bad happened to Holly. He tried to knock on the bathroom door but there was no answer. Then he tried to talk to her by asking her to come out of the bathroom. But she refused to do so but she kept on saying one phrase.
