Count on Me

            I limped back to my chamber(Itachi's room) with tears streaming down my face. If my father hadn't been so greedy I wouldn't be in this situation now. I was perfectly happy with my simple life in the forest. I've never felt so degraded in my life. I was about to enter til someone grabbed me by my arm. "Please don't hurt me." I begged I really didn't want to have to endure anything else that would further push me over the edge. "Calm down it's me, Sasuke." I sighed with relief after looking up to see Sasuke's face. Though he didn't ask me if anything was wrong for he already knew that anytime I was in tears it was because of Itachi. "Come with me." Sasuke  carried me in his arms as we continued down the hall.

              We came to a door that he had gently kicked open, "We're here." This looked to be Sasuke's room and to be honest I was a bit scared due to most recent events. "If I may Your Highness? Why did you bring me here?" I was gently placed on the bed as he took a spot near the edge. "You are going to be sleeping here every night starting tonight." Taken back by his words I had to double check to see if what i heard was correct. "Did you say here?" Sasuke rolled his eyes with a deep sigh mixed in. "Yes, here. Though unlike my brother I had something prepared for you." He got up from the bed and went over to the curtain in his room and pulled one of it's tassels. Suddenly, a wall started to open up, *A secret passage* I thought to myself. Sasuke scooped me up once again and carried me inside the secret doorway. "I was thinking of something more like this." It was a room designed with a canopy bed that was fitted with black and pink trimmings. A reading corner. My balcony window looked into the secret garden. Gowns to wear so that I wouldn't have to wear this repulsive thing Itachi has me wearing. "I also have another surprise for you." Sasuke moved aside and in ran Taiki, who jumped up and started to lick all over my face. "Taiki will also be staying here with you. I figured you could use a friend so you wouldn't be so alone.

            "I can't thank you enough Prince Sasuke. I am forever in you debt." I bowed but out of nowhere I was pulled into a hug from Sasuke. "I just want you to count on me from no on. I'm not gonna let anything like this happen to you ever again. Tomorrow I will have a word with my parents about making you my chambermaid. The only difference between me idiot brother and I is that I won't treat you with such cruelty or force you to do anything against your will. You will be free." I was completely moved to tears. 

       "Th-thank you Prince S-sasuke." I manged to work out during my sniffles. "Please think nothing of it. Now please get out of that crap and put on your night gown. Then get some rest, you deserve it." Sasuke then left shutting the secret passage behind him leaving only Taiki and myself. I started to change into my night gown, "This is almost too good to be true Taiki." Taiki nodded his head then jumped on the bed. "I know what you're thinking, that I can't trust him. I believe I can though. You should've met his brother but you would've ripped him to shreds and then you would be taken from me and I don't want to lose you." I ruffled Taiki's fur before laying upon my new bed and letting my sleep finally consume me.

       *SASUKE*

                After shutting the door to Sakura's new room I threw myself onto my bed. *Never again Sakura will you ever feel the cold touch of my brother. Never will you feel any pain.  I will take care of you. Heal every scar with my warm touch. I won't let him near you ever again even if that means having to kill my own brother. I swear I will protect you. I love you Sakura.*  With my final thoughts I drifted off to sleep knowing now not only would I sleep peacefully but so would Sakura. Please Sakura just count on me and I'll always be there.
