[ Chapter 1 ]
{ Hyejin's POV }
You spread your little wings as you flew out of the depths of Heaven. You were a messenger for the Heavens, but you were different from the others. Instead of delievering messages to the people of the city, you were delievering them to the people of the Human World.
Even though you were really young, your parents still trusted you to deliver the messages and to come back straight away.
"Hyejin-ah, this time it'll be a little different, not like the normal route you take to go to the Human World.." The leader of the messengers talked to you but you were barely listening, thinking about who were you delievering messages to.
"Yah! Hyejin-ah, are you listening?" This time you paid super close attention to the plan, making sure you understood the way and would not get lost.
"Okay! I got it! Please please please! Can I go now?" You whined and pleaded until she rolled her eyes repeatedly.
"Fine, fine, but make sure you don't get lost, or I am seriously not going to let you out of the house for a week!" Did I mention the leader of the messengers was my mother?
"Yay! Don't worry mum, I promise to come back as soon as possible like always." Your mother gave you a goodbye kiss on the forehead before going back to the talk to the other messengers.
Making the route your mother asked you to, you found yourself in a unfamiliar place, but assumed the light of the Human World was right ahead of you. You slowly inched to it, foot by foot, until a bright light devoured you, and brought you to a dark alley, your wings tucked behind some clothes. You walked to the entrance of the alley, hearing the buzzing sounds of cars racing here and there.
'It must be morning, the last time I came here was at night, and not much vehicles was racing like crazy.' You thought.
You walked casually to the place you were to supposed to deliever the messages. The messages usually comes from the people in Heaven, maybe they wanted to tell their loved ones something important, and so you're guessing that maybe one of the person's relative or someone he or she is related to passed away.
You usually deliver messages when the person you're supposed to deliver the messages to, is not home, but surprisingly, this time, he was. You wondered how to give the person the letter, but you figured you had to do it.
You timidly knocked on the door, hoping he will answer it. "Go answer that door, Baekhyun!" Who I guess is his father, shouted. The boy, named Baekhyun, opened the door. I scanned the body of the boy, bruises and wounds showing.
"U-uhm.. y-yes?" "Don't tell anyone else, but I'm a angel from Heaven. I'm here to deliver a letter."
"O-oh, I'm actually the servant of this family, so I don't really know anything about their personal life." Your eyes widened, servant? Oh my, he looks so pitiful, what should I do?
"Y-you looked so bruised, a-are you okay?" "Y-yes, I am, I don't want to keep my master waiting already, so could you just give me that l-letter?"
"W-wait, B-baekhyun right?" "Y-yeah?" Why do I keep stuttering? "I think I'll heal you. Y-your bruises are terrible, I want to help out." "O-okay, but how are you supposed to help out? You can't possibly heal me right on the spot here, people will see you! You wouldn't want to give off your-" You cupped his cheeks, and he turned a little red. "Of course not silly, I'll meet you at your room tonight?" His eyes grew big, "You know where my room is?" "Of course you pabo, I know the structure of everybody's houses and I know what everybody is doing right now."
He slowly looked down. "I feel like I'm being a burden-" "Baekhyun, of course not! I'm willing to help anybody! don't say that, okay?" His tears slowly start to form. "B-baekhyun. D-don't cry." you used your thumbs to wipe off his tears, telling him that he has to go inside sooner or else his "master" will say something. "Just make sure y-you come okay?" "I will." You gave him a heart warming smile, heading to that dark alley again.
{ Baekhyun's POV }
'Nobody has ever talked to me like that.' The boy thought.
"What took you so long?!" His master's voice roared through the whole house, creating a echo. The man slapped the boy across the face, creating a striking red mark.
"Go into your room now! I'll be there in a minute!" His master bellowed again.
'This is such a cruel world.'
And that evening was filled with screams, whines, and pleading from the poor boy in his room.
'Why do I even deserve to live?'
He thought, as his body shivered from fear and pain.
