The child presented to me was a girl, who I call Anouk. Her hair was as fair as Jaspers blond but she was tan. Her chubby body fit against my hard one like it was made to be there.

"Onyx your uncle will be here any minute now and the house is a wreck. You have people laying around down stairs." Violet took the baby from me as she spoke. "I know he will be here. But I have like an hour left every thing will be clean and people will be gone." I changed into work out clothes and ran down to dismiss the people in the front room and kitchen. "Dakoda come train with me." I spoke as I passed him. He followed me up the stairs only leaving me to change. The training room was quiet until I began adding weights to the bar. "Don't you think that the child will cause problems with your uncle?" Dakoda asked as he stood behind me. "My uncle doesn't know me and it shouldn't cause problems. Anouk isn't mine and that's obvious." I squatted down with one hundred pounds across my sholders. "You act like she's yours sometimes." He pushed my knees apart further. Sweat began rolling down my back. "I act like it's my job to watch over her. She's a child and her mom won't be around for the first year." He scoffed at my words. "I think you see yourself in her" I dropped the weights, turning around. "I see a helpless child that came from my friend. I'm helping, unlike you." I walked away from him and took wrapping from my pocket and began hitting the sand bags.

A throat cleared from the stair case, but my hands worked on their own system and continued to assault the bag. "Onyx." It was Violet. I stilled the bag and turned to her and took the child into my hands again before looking to the stairs. A man, very aged stood in the way, staring down at me. "You must be my uncle. Welcome." I held out my hand to shake his. He looked at my hand but didn't place his in it. "The training room seems to be a meeting grounds. Do I need to build onto the property?" His eyes danced around the room. I stood dumb struck. "We are only sixteen people. We have enough." "Sixteen people and a baby. Show me the rest of the house." I looked over to Violet as he spoke. Dumb struck I lead him up the steps to see the dogs. Each dog stood silent, even Sage who had been placed in there after the baby was born. "Each dog gets a pound of food a day. Training every other day." He only nodded at my words. We pass the hall and he peeks inside open bedrooms. "The child is this mans? Where is the mother?" He stood in front of Jaspers room. "Anouk is Jaspers yes. The mother is out of town. I'm watching her until she's back." I say and hold the child closer. He continues to walk down to the front room and kitchen, picking up furs and moving objects. "Violet. Everything seems to be up to standards. I'll be sending in a few supplies in the week. Keep me updated." With this he leaves and a breath I didn't know I was holding excapes me.

"You didn't tell me he was a dick." I say as i brushed passed Violet and up to my room. I laid Anouk down on the center of the animal furs and pulled weapons off the rack to clean them. My door opened and closed again. "If I had told you about him you would have turned him away." Her hands wrapped around my middle and she whispered into my ear. I continued to wipe down the blade in my hand. "I don't care. He isn't important to me." Her breath stilled for a second before exhaling forcefully. The cloth slipped and I cut a deep gash in the plam of my hand. I jerked away and the blade clattered to the ground. I walked down to Sol and had him bandage my hand. "You know maybe it's best of he's not here ever again. Tell him it creates a disturbance in the peace." I walked back into my room talking to Violet. The blade still sat on the ground where I had dropped it. I slid it into its spot on the rack and carried Anouk down to her room. Jasper picked up his head and nodded at me as I put the baby on her furs. I joined Violet down in my room again. "You are acting like a child Onyx." I had my back towards her as she spoke. "Then let me act like a child." I brushed past her to the furs and dropped myself on them. "You don't have time to act like a child. Get up and continue with what you started." I only laughed. "With what is started huh?" She didn't say anything as I stood. I walked towards her, and she walked backwards until her back slammed on the wall next to the door. I put my arm next to her head and leaned in. "I always finish what I start. Don't ever think otherwise." With that I ushered her from my room and laid down again on my back, twirling the fur underneath my hand and letting my head settle.
