The Zoo

Trapped

By bars of

Cold, heartless iron

He crouched

Wild with terror,

Far away from the

Places where he

Used to stalk,

Muscles rippling,

King of the jungle!

Here, trapped,

By bars

Of cold, heartless iron

He lost his dignity

Unable to take it

Any longer

He began running

In circles,

For was there another path?

Outside, a young girl giggled.

"Look Mummy!

A mad

Tiger!"
