I walked into school. People all around me. Everyone in their groups. The jocks, cool kids, nerds, weirdos. The usual. I make my way past them all as I head to my locker. I put my stuff away and look at the picture. I quickly shut my locker before anyone else can see. I carry my stuff to the library as I do every day before school. I find my table, the one by the window, and pull out my laptop. I start typing my dream from last night.

The bell rings and I pack up my things and head to my core class.  Mr Juking. I head to my desk and sit down next to my best friend Sara. I tell her my dream from last night and then tell her my latest joke. What did the cow say when he was cramped? Moooove over! She giggles and then stops. She's staring at something. I turn and follow her gaze. A new boy. He walks past our desk and sits two rows behind us. Sara and I exchange looks as we settle in. Mr Juking comes in and tells us about his weekend. Why does he even bother? None of us care. We all listen though, everyone loves Mr Juking's style of speech. Once he's finished, he hands us all back our English tests. I look over at Sara's. 98%. She asks me what I got so I tilt the paper for her to see. her eyes light up as she reads the glorious 1-0-0%. Mr Juking then tells us to put our tests away and states that we are starting a new topic in English. We listen eagerly. He says that we are doing puns. Yes!

At lunchtime, Sara and I sit by the old green fence. We talk about the new boy. Right on cue, he walks up to us and says hello. We reply with a casual smile and he states that his name is Camron. I recognise the name from somewhere, but where? He sits down and starts talking about how his family moved here from Sydney and how he played soccer for the NSW state team. While he's talking we see girls walking past, jealous looks on their faces. I start looking at him properly. His eyes are a deep blue and his hair shaggy and brown. He reminds me of my favourite Youtuber. Phil Lester. He's mid conversation when a soccer ball hits him in the back. The boys who kicked it are laughing. He stands up at kicks the ball back to the boys and yells out to them "You should really practice your aim. The goal is over on the other side." The boys look to each other for a comeback but cannot think of one so they shrug and start to play again.

The bell rings and we walk to class. Cameron is still with us. Sara, who has always been bold, asks him why he's hanging out with us. He replies with "The boys are stupid and you girls are..I don't know but there's something that I really like about you." He walks to his locker leaving me and Sara standing there in the hallway.
