Chapter one
I cant believe I let this happen to me. Letting myself become one of them, its horrible. Like any other story I started as “the new kid”, ironic right? It all started when we moved here over the summer, Fairview, Pennsylvania welcomed me with an easy hello. My house is not huge but its not small. “Emmiline!” my mom called from the upstairs, “your room is up here!” I walked up the stairs with some of my things, clothes, video games, and posters. As I opened up all my boxes and put them where ever, I was listening to my usual music, Black veil brides and Asking Alexandria mixed with a little bit of My Chemical Romance. “No head banging in the new house Miss. Ross!” my dad called out but I didn’t listen to him. I don’t classify myself as “goth” or “emo” I just liked the music that’s seen as those words. My hair is brown with purple high lights, I usually wear jeans and a t-shirt with sneakers. A month from now I would start school and most likely but pushed around like last year.

I got on the bus at like what, 7:10? The bus driver greeted me with a smile, missing some of his teeth, and asked for my name. “Emmiline Ross” I said trying not to look at his ugly black smile. After the encounter I slowly walked to the back not being tripped once, very surprising, I wasn’t used to not almost falling on the bus floor. One by one students came on the bus and was greeted with that ugly smile. As we arrived to the school everyone raced to get in the walk way of the bus, ‘hold it everyone sit down! Im Mr. Fox but you can call me by my first name John.” John sat down putting his hand out giving the signal that we can go. I walked to my homeroom and sat next to what looked like a goth or some guy who enjoyed a lot of black, chains and ripped pants. “Hey” he spoke in a raspy voice as he peered through his long bangs, “Im Jeffrey Chamal, you must be new” I nodded. “This is a rough school I would like to see you try to get through the year without being hurt or punched strait in the face.” Jeffrey finally look up at me with a creepy smile, he reminded me of Jeff the killer but with a normal face. “Nice to meet you Im Emmiline!” I put my hand out hoping he would shake it or give me some kind of high five… “Ok class Im Mrs. Coast and I teach ninth grade math and I am your homeroom teacher” great I got a math teacher I said under my breath sarcastically. Jeffrey laughed as the teacher came up to him and said it was nice to see him again this year. After going through the basic rules of the school and the class room for like forty minutes we went to our first period to hear the same lecture. I sat alone at lunch when a couple of class mates came to my table. Jeffrey came with the group, “hey Im Vanessa Hunter” a girl with pale skin and dark cloths introduced her self and her friend. She pointed to a boy that was slightly over weight but not quite there just yet, “this is Ryan Booker” Ryan gave me two peace signs and sat down with the rest of the group “ Jeffrey told me you already met him so I think it was Emmiline he said” Jeffrey nodded with his bangs still in his face. “you’re a new kid and we are pushed around so we thought you would like to talk for a bit” Ryan said. “hey lets get to know her and her to know us, you cant just say hey get in my van” Vanessa said in a I can hurt you voice. “Well, I like Black veil Brides, Asking Alexandria and a little bit of My Chemical Romance. My favorite colors are blue and grey, umm, I enjoy playing video games and going on the internet.” I said in a hopeful voice hoping they would like my interests too. Ryan came to finally look at me with a grin and said, “Asking Alexandria is awesome, and Christian Coma is so hot.” I moved a seat away from him thinking he was obviously gay, he laughed, “I get that a lot”. The bell rang and we were off to next class, Jeffrey slipped a note on the table before I left. During next class I got board and finally read the note, “This is a trick save yourself now before having your life be slipped away before your eyes. ~Jeffrey”. I rolled my eyes but I was pretty creeped out by the note thinking is he lying or does he just not like me and is too chicken to tell me to my face.

Best nap of my life! This school sucks all it is, is this is my class here’s the rules this is my name and I don’t know good luck see you next year. “Miss. Ross how was your day?” my dad looked at me wiping his face with a napkin. “Well I met some of my class mates and they were kind of creepy though. Im pretty sure one of them is gay, and I had the best nap of my life during language arts!” “Emmiline you know that you cant sleep in class, your learning things that are important” my mom told me for the third time today. I slouched and looked at her like I heard the lecture a billion times in my life, I looked down at my food and mumbled, “the only thing Im ever going to need to know how to diagram sentences is if I become a ninth grade LA teacher.” the rest of dinner was silent and only short conversations came up. Later I walked up stairs, took a shower and went strait to bed thinking about the note Jeffrey gave to me. The alarm went off and I woke up fifteen minutes later than I was supposed to be. Like the ninja I was I sprinted out of bed, got dressed, brushed my teeth and darted out the front door, there was no time for breakfast. “MY IPOD!” I shouted and ran back to my house to grab it, Im nothing without my music. My parents are not home so if I miss the bus Im walking, or riding my bike, I ran to the bus stop just making it in time to see John’s black teeth, I haven’t been so relived. “today we will be learning about” I trailed before I could hear the teacher finish, “and your going to learn that we don’t care” I whispered to Jeffrey, he laughed and went back to his nap.
