*Meet My Best Friend Forever-Amber*

"Get up Jess!" My mom yells in my ear. 

"Mom..please just 2 minutes more. pleeease."I groan and turn over in my bed, trying to shield my eyes from the light.

"Honey its 7 already. Now get up or you'll not get ready in time for school."She says and walks out of my room, not mine really. I have to share it with my sister. 

I stumble groggily out of bed 5 minutes later, feeling very sleepy. I wasn't going to but then mom started yelling from the kitchen and it's not a pleasant noise exactly so i got up.

I groan again when I glance at the clock. Its only 6:45 am. GOD! Don't I hate her ways of waking me up.

"I'll get you back for this one day mom", I think evilly then laugh. Of course not.

Well, anyways i'm up now, so better get ready.

"Jess!" My best friend Amber yells and runs towards me, enveloping me in a big hug, knocking the wind out of me. I hug back harder.

"Hi Amber!" I say after she has released me. "Gosh! I missed you so much. "She tells me and  I hold her at arms length, surveying her. Just a little skinnier than before, but still as energetic as ever.

I sigh in relief and smile at her.

"Are you fine now?"I ask her.

She was down with dengue for 3 weeks and God Knows How I survived those weeks. She is my one and only friend in the whole damn school.

Yup, been here for 10 years and yet no other friends. Didn't need anyone though, Amaira aka Amber has been my best friend these 10 years.

"Yup! Fit and fine. 100%" She says and drags me out of the classroom." Don't you worry about me, Amber is as invincible as ever."She says dramatically. 

"That's great! "I tell her, "You don't know how I survived maths without you."

"Awww."She says, "Don't worry, I'm back now. Together we shall survive maths." She lifts an invisible sword.

A group of boys, mean ones to be exact, passes us at that moment. They make rude faces at Amber and me and walk away giggling.

Something clicks in Amber's mind, i can tell, by the way her face suddenly lights up.

"So tell me, did a prince charming come and capture your heart? Please tell me you finally like someone."She says, making a puppydog face at me.

I am not gonna give her false hopes. "No. Why don't you give up on this topic already? I don't like boys and boys don't like me."

I mean, I know she loves me like a best friend and wants me to be happy in love, have a boyfriend.

But, boys are mean , selfish and rude. Plus I'm not even pretty. 

I'm not. And that's the truth. And it doesn't make me sad. It never will. 

"Don't worry, i'll find someone one day. Now tell me how you irritated the doctors."I ask her and she laughs. "Oh god! That was a very fun thing. See what I did was...."She rambles on, effectively steering away the topic from me.

Sometimes I wonder what I would do without her. We're closer than I'm with my sister. Like the saying goes, 'God made us Best friends because he knew our mom couldn't handle us as sisters.' That's 100% true for us.
