(Bree's POV)

I yawned as Isaac kissed me good-night.

"Sweet dreams, princess." Isaac smiled as he laid on top of me.

"I'm not at all like a princess."

Isaac smirked. "I'll still treat you like my own princess."

I let out a small laugh as I looked away from his smirk. "Good night."

There was a loud crash down stairs. Isaac and I whirled toward the door. Isaac quickly got off my bed to go to the door.

"What was that?" I quickly followed him.

"I don't know." Isaac stepped out into the hall. "Stay here. I'll call for you when-- Ah!"

Isaac was rapidly dragged down the stairs as the lights flickered wildly.

"Isaac!" I ran down the stairs to him, but it was quiet and vacant. My eyes narrowed as I tried to listen around, but there was not one sound, not even a whisper. I slowly stepped around, trying to hear what I could. There was a knock at the door, and my head whirled to it.

I took a step back, moving away from the door.

There was another knock. Isaac laughed behind it. "It's just me, Bree."

I raised a brow. "Then how were you dragged downstairs?"

Isaac laughed again. "Derek and I were just having a little fun."

Derek laughed. "We didn't mean to scare you so bad. It's just that you're the most fun to poke around with in our pack."

I rolled my eyes, letting out a small laugh. "I guess, but I'm not easily scared." I opened the door. "Be more crea--" My eyes widened as I saw Isaac with a rope around his neck, hanging from a tree. His body was cut in half diagonally, from his shoulder to his hip.

My eyes widened more as I spotted a familiar red hood by the base of the tree with the rest of his body. "No... You..."

Brown curls and a grin revealed themselves as she turned to me. "You're a wolf now. That makes you my enemy too."

I looked at Isaac with shifted eyes.

"You can join him."

I snapped awake and sat up, gasping. I caught my breath as I looked around. I looked at Isaac's bare back on my left with his blond hair slightly standing out in my dark room. I took a deep breath and lied back down. "Isaac..."

"Mmm?" He didn't move.

I weakly smiled. "I'm glad you're here."

Isaac instantly jumped on top of me, smiling as blood oozed out of several cuts on his face. "Are you now? Your friend did this to me!"

My eyes widened. "Isaac!"

I jumped up again, gasping as I sat up.

"Bre!" Isaac was sitting next to me, holding my hand. "Are you okay? You were screaming."

I looked him over with wide eyes, catching my breath. I sighed of relief. "Isaac."

He nodded and held me. "It's okay. It's okay."

I held him tightly, breathing in the smell of his bare shoulder.

"It's okay." He kissed the nape of my neck. "I'm here for you."
