A Life Less Ordinary

Part 1 - Nice to meet you!

It was 2011 when I got the chance to go on tour with a famous boyband called Westlife. They needed a new tour manager and I needed a job. Since then I just knew them because they were from my hometown Sligo. I wasn't so much interested in their music, I've only known a few of their biggest hits - Who didn't?

Well, a few days before the tour started in May I finally met them. I was very nervous because I really needed the job and because it was my first job for my new agency, I wanted to make a good impression.

But my nervousness was gone after some moments with the four lads. They were all very kind and polite that they put me at ease immedeately.

The tour went well and - What can I say? - I really fell in love with them. They were so nice and funny and of course I was impressed by their shows and their professionality. In one moment they fooled around with each other and the whole stuff including me and in the next moment they were really focused on their work. I loved them all but I had the best connection to Mark, the shyest member of the band. He always had a smile for me and his blue eyes were always sparkling. And yes, I knew that he was gay and in a relationship, but I have to admit I had a little crush on him. We talked a lot during this tour, we laughed together and we became friends.

So when the tour was over at the end of October I was very sad about that. I hugged Shane, Nicky and Kian for one last time at Dublin airport and then it was time to say goodbye to Mark. He gave me a big hug and I felt very comfortable at his strong and warm chest. Hey Sarah, don't be sad. he said quietly. This isn't farewell, this is just goodbye! I guess we'll see each other at our next promotour. I sniffed a bit and looked into his shiny blue eyes. He smiled at me and pulled me closer. Thanks for everything. I will try everything that they'll hire you for us, I promise. He murmured. I tried to smile at him when he went off for his flight to London where he lived with his fiance. I was so deep in my thoughts if I would ever see him again that I didn't even noticed the others joking about us.
