Food.

That's all I wanted.

But I can't find any fucking food in any of these fucking boxes. I guess my brothers don't know how to read because in the boxes labeled "food", lies my mothers hair accessories.

I officially hate moving.

"Luke, honey?" My mom walked into the new kitchen right as I lifted my leg to kick the box as hard as I could. "What are you doing?"

"Um, I got hungry." I put my foot down slowly, laughing a little.

"I'm always scared to ask that question." She walked right over to a box that said 'summer clothes/girls' and pulled a package of ramen out. "Will this suffice for a while?"

"I don't know how you do that," I snatched it from her hands and grabbed a bowl out of the cupboard.

"Hun, after you make your food, go finish unpacking. I'll do everything out here." I nodded slightly while getting my food ready to put in the microwave. After three minutes it was done perfectly, so I brought it up to my room.

My room was mostly unpacked except for the few books I have and a couple of shirts I put in the wrong box. I sat down at my desk, ramen in hand, and looked around.

I feel like something's missing.

I couldn't figure it out so I shrugged and let it go. I started bobbing my head to the music that was playing quietly somewhere. Then I remembered that I hadn't turned on any music and this wouldn't be the kind of music my sisters would listen to.

I walked over to my balcony and opened the double doors that were made off all glass. When I opened them, the music got ten times louder than before.

I looked around trying to find out where the music was coming from when my eyes landed on the window directly across from my room. Through the windows of the balcony across from me, I saw a girl around my age dancing and hopping around what looked to be her bedroom. Trying to get her attention, I threw some pebbles from the potted plant that was next to me.

That didn't get her attention. She just bounced over to a mirror and put her black hair up in a bun.

I couldn't reach her window, which meant I only had one option. I jumped over the five foot gap between our balconies and went onto hers. Her door was locked so just banged on her door as loud as I could.

She jumped so high and screamed so loud, I couldn't help but laugh. I laughed so hard that I had to clutch my stomach and fell to the ground. The girl was immediately standing above me and she looked so pissed off.

I sat up and propped myself on my elbows, saying, "What's wrong pretty girl? You look like you've seen a ghost."

"Oh, shut up. Who are you and what are you doing on my balcony?" she asked with her hands on her hips. Her green eyes were really dark and looked angry. I stood back up, taking a good look at her. She was wearing a black tank top that made her look so skinny and purple pajama pants that added color to her look.

"Well, look how rude I am. I forgot to introduce myself. I am Luke Hemmings. I just moved in next door. I came over to complain about volume of music. Not that I don't like it. I actually really like All Time Low. May I ask who you are?"

"I'm Candie. Why are you here?"

"Like I said, to complain about your music."

"How about I turn down my music and next time you have a complaint, you come to the front door? Does that work for you?"

"Actually, I really like the whole parcore thing I've got going, jumping over that gap."

"Can you please stop being sarcastic and get the fuck out of my house?" I could tell she was getting frustarated, so I decided to keep messing with her.

"What's the magic word?" I asked in a sing-song voice.

She sighed and said, "Please?"

"I was thinking more 'happy halloween', but please will do." At this, she grabbed my hand and pulled me through her room and down the stairs to her front door.

"Thank you for stopping by, please don't come again." And she pushed me out the door slamming it in my face while I just kept chuckling to myself.

I walked back to my house, into my room and turned on the same song Candie was playing and cranked it as loud as my stereo could go.

I figured out what was missing. Music that was meant to annoy someone.
