Camp Phoenix Drop (Minecraft Diaries and Mystreet AU)

Chapter 1: Goodbye Summer, Hello Camp

(Authors notes: I 10/10 promise that this isn't a Garmau Fic... or a Laurmau fic or even an Aarmau fic. As of this story there will not be any SomethingMau relationships unless there is a sequel.... maybe. Also this chapter focuses on Aphmau)

Day 1: The Morning

Aphmau stepped out of her mum's minivan and pulled her backpack over her shoulders. As she tried to beg her mum to not send her to Camp Phoenix Drop, her mum slammed the door shut and rolled down the window.

"Now Mija listen up, I don't want you talking to any boys, well except for the camp staff, but no boys your age okay."

"But Mum that's probably over half of the people at the camp. Why can't I just stay home"

"Because you'll spend all summer on that internet game. Besides here you can make friends." Her Mum kisses her on the head. "See you at the end of summer"

As she drove away Aphmau started walking down a badly tiled brick path towards a giant arch with the words Camp Phoenix Drop. The words had faded away over time making them slightly harder to read and the vines and ivy covering it didn't help. Many thoughts ran through her mind but one stood out. What if she had to share a tent. With strangers. Lots of strangers. The thought made her stomach tight, head ache and gave her an itchy feeling on her arms, or maybe that was just the amount of mosquitoes that had bit her already. Whilst lost deeply in thought she felt something in front of her feet and the next thing she knew was that she was on the floor with a boy walking past her with a smug look.

"Truly amazing Kitty" The boy said sarcastically.

"Hey! I'm no Cat! In fact i'm not an animal i'm a human! And I have a name you know! " Aphmau shouted, not realising that she was shouting.

"So do I. The names Gene, don't forget it." He walked off while Aphmau pushed herself up off the ground. She brushed the dirt on her exposed kneecaps to the floor, revealing a little graze on her left knee, she didn't mind though, It would be the first of many injuries this summer would bring considering she'd be spending the entire time outside.

When she entered the camp the first thing she noticed was the smell. Oddly it smelt like home-cooked blueberry pies and sweet strawberry cake. This wasn't what she had expected of a camp but after looking around the entrance it became pretty clear that those weren't natural camp smells, they were just some treats a pink haired girl had baked on a battery powered toy oven, which actually cooked food. She wandered around until everyone was called to the mini wooden canopy in the middle of the camp but because of her size, Aphmau had to squeeze her way to the front of the crowd so she could see.

"Hello Everyone! I am the camp instructor, Zianna Ro'Meave and I am calling this meeting to tell you who your tent buddies are." Aphmau heard the words Tent buddies and nearly fainted. "We have this little wooden box here and we want all of you to put your names on a piece of paper and put it in here so we can do a lucky tent buddy dip!" She went around and collected the papers. Aphmau nearly didn't write anything on hers, at least until she saw Zianna coming over with the box. "Ok everyone it's time to see who everyone's Tent Buddy is" As she placed her hand into the box, Aphmau's heart sank. "ZuZu and Gene, Kawaii~Chan and Nicole, Vylad and Dante, Aaron and Travis, Gargar and Aphmau-" Aphmau stared blankly towards the wooden canopy and whispered to herself.

"Who in Irene's name is Gargar..." Confusion went over her face and lots of thoughts rushed into her head.

"Excuse me, do you know where a person called Aphmoo is?" A boy with blonde hair had accidentally came up behind Aphmau in a way that made her jump.

"AH, oh gosh don't scare me like that... wait Aphmoo? Its pronounced Aphmau! With a mau!" 

"Oh so you do know her!"

"Oh I know her better than anyone else here because I am her... Oh my Irene are you Gargar?"

"No! That's just a nickname my mum, Zianna calls me. My actual name is Garroth." He gives her a small gentle smile. "Nice to meet you tent buddy."

"Give me a second" She turns around and whispers very quietly to herself. "Oh My Irene, i'm sharing a tent with the son of the camp instructor and he's cute! Well what mum doesn't know won't kill her." She turns back around to Garroth. "Nice to meet you too, Tent buddy."
