2:30am
I found myself knocking on the front door of the place I truly called home.
It was a fifty-fifty chance that Dad would actually open the door.

I leant against the wall. I pulled out my phone from my bag and turned on the torch and began looking through my bag for a key.

Suddenly I heard the door creek open.
"Who is there?" I heard Dad whispered.
"Dad it's me."
"All I have to do is press ring and the police will be called."
"Dad it's Lola." I said stepping into the doorway.
"Jesus Christ Lola! What are you doing here? It's practically 3am."
"I know. If you let me in then we can talk."
Dad stood out of the doorway.

I walked in leaving my suitcase in the hallway. Dad locked and bolted the door before following me into the living room.

I sat down on the sofa.
"Why are you not at your flat, with Jack?"
"Fuck Jack. I need a drink." I said going to get up.
Dad grabbed my wrist and pulled me back down.
"What happened?" He demanded.
"Dad he was gone for over a month, half of it which wasn't planned and he comes home and acts as if I knew about it all along."
"But you didn't?"
"No I didn't. He has taken me for a right mug." I said.
"Lola can't you just move past it?"
"How am I meant to Dad? He could do it all again so easily."
"How can you walk away from him this easily though? Lola you've spent the last three years trying to prove to me that Jack is a good man, and when I start to see that and believe in him myself you pack in your relationship with him."
"That's hardly my fault Dad." I said.
"Well you've been fighting for your relationship for a long time are you really going to let this be the thing that destroys it?"
"Maybe it's for the best Dad."
"Lola." Dad said sighing.

There was a creak in the floorboards in the dining room.
Dad looked over at me.
The kids never woke up in the night. An earthquake wouldn't even wake them. There was someone else in the house.

I walked into the dining room and flicked the light switch.
Luke was stood there in the middle of the dining room looking like a deer caught in the headlights.

"What are you doing here at 3am?" I cried.
He stood staring at me.
"Are you going to answer my question?"
Dad came into the dining room.
"Who is he?"
"The boy that got Sal and Charlie suspended. The boy that has inappropriate images of your daughter on his phone."
Dad grabbed Luke by the scruff of his neck.
"What the hell do you think you're playing at young man?!"
"I w-was just leaving." Luke stuttered.
"That doesn't matter to me. What were you doing with my daughter?"
"Probably things all kinds of illegal." I said.

I saw Luke put his phone onto the table to try and release himself from Dad's grip.

I walked behind him and grabbed the phone.
"Just get out and don't come back. It will be a lot worse if you come back." I said pushing Luke out of the house.

I shut the door.
"That's Luke. The one Sally has been going on about?" Dad questioned.
I nodded.
"God I could kill him. Jimmy would go mental if he knew that he had photos of an underage." Dad exclaimed.
"Well here's the proof." I said handing Dad the phone.
"Who's phone is this?"
"Luke's." I replied.
Dad stared at me.
"He left it on the table."
"Isn't this technically stealing it?" Dad said.
"Do you want to do something about this or not?" I said.
"Get the car keys." Dad said.
I ran into the living room and grabbed the keys.

It was a game over for Luke.

3:30am
We pulled up outside of the station. I parked the car and we jumped out when the car was stationary.

I pushed open the doors to the station and felt the rush of chaos hit me.

Dad went over to the desk.
"Hello how may I be of assistance?" The receptionist asked.
"I would like to speak to Superintendent Jimmy, if possible." Dad said.
"What is the issue?"
"It doesn't concern you." I said. "We just want to see Jimmy."
"Fine." The receptionist said. "James will you take them to the Super's office."
