I open the door as they step into the office. As Rosalie plays with a few props, I ask the parents what backdrops they want and anything else necessary. "Can we do the family portrait first?" The mother asks. She's young, possibly only a year older than me. "Of course, I have a few different ideas." I explain to her. As they position themselves the way they would like the first picture, I see the beauty of the family and strive to capture it in a picture. I take a few pictures with all of them smiling, then Rosalie hiccups. The whole family begins to giggle, and I sneak a picture. I look at it on the camera screen, and smile. Those are the types of pictures I love taking.
Once family portraits are done, they ask for a few individuals of Rosalie. She sits on a plain white background, and her red dress is screaming in color. "Rosalie, what do you want to be when you grow up?" I ask her. "A photographer!" She says while getting up and grabbing a play camera. "Can you pretend that you're taking some pictures for me?" I ask her with a giggle. As she does so, I take a few pictures. The parents laugh and give her encouraging words. Someone knocks on the door, "Hold on just a second." I say in a playful tone and Rosalie giggles quietly. I open the door and Edward walks in. "I figured you would want to use these." He hands me a basket full of roses and rose petals. "Oh my gosh!" I say happily. "Thank you." "May I watch?" He asks. "Of course. There's one more open seat." I say while closing the door behind him. "Okay, Rosalie. Now you get to play with some flowers." I tell her. I sprinkle rose petals around her while Edward talks to the parents. Rosalie watches me with awe as I position them. "Now, I need you to grab some of these flower petals out of the basket, and when I count to three I need you to throw them up in the air. Okay?" I say. "Okay!" She smiles and grabs a handful of flower petals, I get my camera ready. "Okay, Rosalie. One, two, three!" She throws them up in the air with a grin and as they fall she bursts into giggles. I catch as many pictures as possible. She sits down with a pile full of petals on her head. She picks one petal off of the ground and looks at it. I catch a picture of that too.
After doing a variety of things, I have one more photo idea in mind that I know her parents will love. "Okay, last one. Are you ready?" She nods as I position her on her knees. I spread the flower petals over her dress and hand her the largest rose in the basket. Her parents stop talking and watch as I fix her hair. I hear them exchange a few mutters as I position myself behind the camera. She hold the rose to her chest and looks at the camera with a relaxed, content expression, her big green eyes were sparkling, but she was not smiling. I took the picture and she gasped, "I didn't even say cheese!" "I know. You're finished. Good job, Rosalie!" I say to her. She giggles and runs up to me, wrapping her arms around my waist. "You're going to be a great photographer one day." I tell her. She runs to her fathers lap as Edward takes out the memory card from the camera. He leads us to a giant computer screen and goes through the photos. I was very pleased with how they turned out. I accomplished the goal I set for myself. We finally reached the last picture, and I smiled as the parents showered it with compliments. I was happy that they were happy. They bought the best version of every single type of photo I took, which was a lot of photos.
I brought them back down to the lobby. "Thank you so much. The photos are amazing." The mother tells me. "Oh, no problem. You guys were amazing to work with." I reply. Rosalie comes up to give me another hug. "Bye!" She says. "Goodbye." I giggle has she runs off and grabs her father's hand. I sigh and head back up to my regular office to file my papers. The door bursts open soon after I sat down. Edward stands in the doorway. He smiles and claps his hands. The door closes behind him. "I couldn't be more impressed." He sets the memory card on my desk. "Now, upload these to your computer in one folder." "Okay, and... thanks." I say. "They were extremely satisfied. They love you. I believe your university now. Those were some amazing shots." He responds. "Thanks." I laugh. "Alright, well since you're done for today, you can leave early." "Really?" I ask. "Yeah." He says. "This job is a lot more relaxed than you think it is." He smiles. "Thank you." I say as the photos finish uploading. "Nice job today." He says, and before I could say anything, the door shut. It opened up again immediately after, "Actually, I need your cell phone number." He says while pulling out his phone. I quickly give it to him, and he disappears again.
I straighten up a few last things in my apartment, then I walk to a nearby grocery store to buy food and drinks for myself. I unload them into my kitchen and take a shower. When I got out, I called William and my parents to talk about my first day. They were really supportive, which made me really happy as. By the time I finally laid in bed, it was late. I made sure my alarm clock was set and then closed my eyes. I really like London so far, and the office is great. I can't wait to have more clients.
