'I welcome all of you to my trusty living room where I grew up. With my big brother! Austin Thompson!' I announce pointing the camera at Austin on the ground playing with his toys.
'Cassidy, you're so weird..' He states.
I turn back to the camera and mock 'And I think you're a jerk.'
'Well, anyways. Speaking of my little brother, he is havin issues in school that started a few months ago. And this is just all bad stuff! Look at me! A whole video without cussing. Let's see if I can do it! And then for AskCass, I'm not going to sugar code it. So get over it.'
'I've heard you curse before.' Austin sighs.
'Shut up Austin. No you haven't.'
'You just did.' He giggled.
'Welcome to my life.' I sigh, 'but onto our main subject..'
'One of Austin's teachers are being a little bit snippy. And it's his math teacher. Now I'm sorry if he is watching this but you really take it hard on the kids. My brother is making almost a C in the class and he is a straight A student.. Even if he is in grade school, he still doesn't make that low of a grade! And it's just a hot mess in there!'
'You know, I have been getting tweets and Tumblr inboxes messages with complaints from your teachers and stuff that you don't even have time to be annoyed by!'
'Let me tell you something about teachers! Teachers are the most unrateated, and disrespected beings on this earth and they do not make enough money to put up with the stuff that the put up with. You think you are the only ones that don't like coming to school, like you don't think that teachers have family and friends and a life of their own. They are just sitting at their desks grading your papers like they don't want to be doing this! And I'm telling you.. If I were your teacher.. This wouldn't be happening. This woulda fly with me.'
'But there are some teachers thy get in your last nerve and they hate you even though you do absolutely nothing! And it's just like oh my god! Why is this happening?'
'I don't like my teacher.' Austin announces.
I laugh 'He sure doesn't.'
'I get all my answers wrong because she doesn't like me.'
'See! My brothers like ten! Eight! Nine! Whatever age he is!'
'Eight.' He remarks, snickering to himself.
'Oh jolly gosh. I'm eight.' I mock.
'Hey! You're glad mums not home!'
'Yeah, what's she gonna do?'
'Make you go to your room.'
'I'm sure. How many times have you gone to your room?'
'This year or this month?' He asks. Making me crack up.
'Okay.. I'm scared to ask but this month.'
'15 maybe.' He shrugs.
I start to laugh so hard 'What did you do?' I question.
'Alot of things.' He replies, rolling his eyes.
'Thank you captain obvious.'
'Anytime.' He smiles, still focusing onto his toys.
'Oh god bless my brother!' I say, trying to do the worship hand thing, but fail miserably. 'How do you do that? I mean I know it goes on your head and then heart to the other side and back.' I say, doing to another multiple times.
When I give up I say 'Basically, this teacher. I actually had before. And he did not make any sense and even I passed that class. I don't know what's going on but like.. Austin, go get your math test!'
'Okay.' He says, scurrying off the floor. I wait til he gets back and pause the camera, so I don't have to edit all that out when I'm finished.
He comes back and I look at the paper, '56?!' I say, gobsmacked.
I turn the camera back on saying 'Look at this. A 56! And my brother knows this stuff. He got an A on it last year!' I flip through and then ask 'Okay, what's five times six?'
'30.' He replied, looking confident.
'And he got the answer right but it says it's wrong! Can the teacher see your handwriting?'
'I don't think he can. I mean he is at least a billion years old.'
I laugh 'Maybe that's why.'
'Everyones failing that class too!' He yells, going back to his toys.
'And there you have it! The whole class is failing this! Austin don't listen to me but I never really cared for math and I went through all my life with it and I still don't use most of the things I learned in there. It's not my favourite but it's not my least favourite either..'
'I heard that.' Austin smiles.
'Would you stop back talking me boy?'
'Whats back talking?' He asks, dumbfounded.
I face palm myself saying 'I swear to god.'
'What?! I just asked a question! Geez!'
I stuck my tounge out at him and he returned it. I went back to the camera pouting and continuing with my conversation, 'Okay. Well. Tomorrow is going to be AskCass now I'm not asking for a specific topic.. But maybe school questions?' I shrug, suggesting the idea. 'Well have a nice day you hot messes.'
Austin yells 'Bye hot messes!'
I start to laugh as hard as I could, holding my stomach and when I finally pulled myself together, I got up and turned off the camera and uploaded it to my computer. 'Oh Austin.' I sigh.
'What? I was just repeating you.' He defends himself.
'You're still young. You have so much to learn.' I laugh.
After I edit it, I put it onto YouTube and me and Austin go out to take Tobi for a walk. I missed hanging out with my brother.
I have learned that you don't know how much you miss something until it's gone.
I have realised that a few times in my life without thinking abou it.
I miss Louis and the boys. Kelsey.
My family.
My home.
