B e f o r e
All week Andrew has been out of sight and out of mind. His presence which always seemed to be a constant wasn’t there, but good things never last. Especially when it’s our anniversary.
It was lunch period when he finally found me.
“Hey baby,” He was showing off. His arms firmly around my waist and my body pressed against his. The entire football team was watching him maul my neck. “I’m taking you out tonight. Be ready by eight. Fancy.” Andrew left with a wink and a sloppy wet kiss on my cheek.
I felt dirty. As if I had rolled in a pile of dirt and slept in a dumpster. He made me feel this way. It was all him.
A pair of dainty hands covered my eyes making me feel nauseous. I hated not being able to see what or were I was going. I wasn’t in control and I hated that feeling.
“Guess who?” I have known Grace Helmp since the start of my sophomore year. She was a new girl and I needed someone who wasn’t apart of Andrew’s little clique but she quickly became one of them as well.
“So what are we doing this weekend? We could go to the mall. Betsey’s is having this big sale…” I started to tune her out. Andrew had ruined my once perky mood and made my day depressing. I didn’t really want to socialize with anyone. Especially Grace.
I sighed, looking for an excuse to leave and when I saw a tall red head leaving the cafeteria I knew that I was in luck.
“Just text me tonight and we can invite the rest of the group. Okay?” I didn’t give her enough time to respond since I was rushing out of the lunch room trying to catch up to Audrey. Boy was she fast.
“Audrey, hold up.” My hands cupping my mouth so that she could hear my minute voice.
She turned around, with her hand on her heart and wide eyes. “Oh my God! You can’t scare me like that Lyse,” I giggled a little at her startled expression.
“Where are you going?”
She smirked, “Why, you wanna come?”
When she started to giggle I felt the blood rushing to my cheeks making them rosier than they already are.
“Come on or we are going to be late.” Audrey took my hand and started to run towards the back entrance of Briarwood.
I didn’t bother asking her where she was taking me. I only followed as she pulled me thorugh the back entrance of Briar Wood. Sitting under a fairly large tree sat Ellie, Jason, Jackson and Adrian.
“What took you so long Audrey!” Jackson was a little impatient and seemed to be a little pissed off too.
Audrey rolled her eyes, “I brought a friend.” Jason was the first to greet me and by greet I mean tackle.
“lllyse!” I was trying to hold back the panic attack but Jason was smothering me. My vision started to blur but I was saved before I passed out.
“Jason get the hell off of her!” Adrian barked. I’ve never heard him use that voice before, but I’ve only heard him say about five words.
Jason was scrambling to get off of me, helping me off of the hard ground. I lightly hugged him letting him know he was forgiven. He seemed scared of Adrian for some reason and I would bet my life that if Adrian said to jump, Jason would jump.
Ellie also hugged me but in a less intense way.
Jackson was annoyed but also hugged me. He was like a big teddy bear, with his huge biceps and large torso.
“Well are we going or not,” Adrian’s voice was tense with a rigid posture. He didn’t seem very happy to see me.
Audrey and Ellie both looped their arms through mine and started to guide me towards the school parking lot.
“We’ll need to get you different clothes but don’t worry about that I have some in the car.”
I looked at Audrey with a confused expression, “Why do I need to change?”
She rolled my eyes at me and patted my head as if I were only a child. “Because we my dear are going to a street race.”
I had never been to one. My worry started to creep up again, but when a warm hand was placed on my back. The tension left my body and my breaths started to even out.
“Stay with me and you will be fine,” Adrian’s voice was soft and slow.
I nodded my head. I can do this.

Hello! I know its taken a long time to get this chapter up but it's up:) I really don't like this chapter but the next one will be better! And I also know that it is short.. yes I know. But the next chapter will be better:) I promise.
