Chapter 1: (Swift)

It was Wednesday, and my back was beginning to ache, from being in this cramped spot. I would have been in the men’s toilets for over 1 hour and I thought that it would have been closing time by now, but I hadn’t heard the signal from Storm yet. I hung an Out of Order sign on the cubicle I was in and my feet were on the toilet seat so I am hunched up. Sweat was dripping from my forehead and my hair was in a mouse brown greasy mop, so for someone such as me this was quite becoming. My shirt was rather tight as I sighed at the sight of my bulging belly. Well I suppose I had put on a few pounds since last time I had a job on. Finally, I heard the clang of the bank doors clanging shut and being locked and I knew it was Showtime. As I gradually eased my way to the floor, I got the signal from the earpiece I had from Storm. I unlocked the bolt and winced as the door squeaked loudly when I pushed it open. I crawled out of the cubicle tentatively, gagging at the repulsive odour emitting from the cubicle next to me. I froze, waiting for someone to come find me, but no one came. I crept out of the toilets into the main foyer of the Bank of Reading where the grand safe was. I edged towards the pillar in the corner of the room protecting me from the CCTV cameras’ view. There were two security guards on this floor and two on the next but if everything was to go to plan, I should have had nothing to worry about. I waited patiently until the fire alarm in the room farthest from the safe went off; it was Pixel’s signal and I smiled.

Chapter 2: (Swift)

The deafening sound had broken the silence and all of a sudden I heard the security men run into the room. The door clicked shut behind them and the alarm suddenly stopped. We had succeeded. The men tried to open the door however it had automatically locked and the CCTV cameras had been shut down. I gasped, shocked that the plan had worked. I ran over to the colossal safe, which swung open revealing gold bars, diamonds and cash, all of which should have added up to 10 million pounds. I released the dry ice I had brought so that the heat sensors would not go off. I grabbed my black bin bags off my belt and grabbed 3 of the gold bars, all of the diamonds and as much of the cash I could carry after. As I made my way to the back exit, my heart was pumping fast with adrenaline and I clutched the bags tightly until my knuckles were white. I heard the signal from Storm with the code word “Rowling” and even though I have no idea why he would choose that word I knew what it meant. It meant: he was ready to go. I reached the back exit and ran out, the cold air hitting my face, which was a relief. Not stopping, I ran to the next street and round the corner. It was really late now, so there was only the occasional drunkard that I passed. Soon I was out of breath but I reached the “Deals on Wheels” van gulping for air. Storm was waiting there and so was Pixel who must have run faster than I did but then again I was not exactly “in shape”. I loaded the van with the bags and jumped in the back as we drove away from here, to Storm’s house in Wargrave, knowing our lives would never be the same again.
