Bucky paces around in his room, making a hole in the carpet from walking back and forth for so long. He feels so at lost without her. It's like when she deid she took his heart with her, leaving behind a gaping hole in his chest that only gets large the more he thinks about her. She's constantly in his head, her sweet smile, her beautiful eyes, and perfect lips haunt him. He's tried distracting himself, but that only lasts for a couple hours and then he's back to where he started, thinking about her.
Ogie walks in, followed by Night and Duke, and sits on Bucky's large four poster bed and watches him walk around the room like a mad man. Perhaps I am a mad man, he thinks to himself. Ogie pets Duke and Night as he watches Bucky walk around in circles. "Bucky?" Ogie says with a trembling voice that makes Bucky pay attention to him. "I miss her."
Bucky's throat closes up as he feels the tears that he's been holding back for so long come pouring out. He walks over to Ogie and embraces him in a hug with his only arm that he has. "I know. I miss her too. If I could bring her back, I would," he hushes to Ogie who clings to his black shirt and rubs his face into it, getting it wet with his tears. Duke and Night whine as they mourn their dead masters.
"Do you think she's in heaven?" Ogie asks.
Bucky smiles at Ogie, "Yes, I think she's looking down at us right now, watching over us."
***********************
I wake up and see a white ceiling. My body aches from pain and my stomach growls from hunger. Great. Just great. I sit up, wincing as pain shoots up my stomach and into my head. I feel the begining of a massive headache and freeze when I get a good look at the room I'm in.
The walls are mirrors. Mirrors that reflect an image of a pale skinned woman with long brown hair out of whack. She's in a light blue hospital gown with a silver chain around her neck. I look down at my neck and inspect the chain, it has a dog tag at the end of it. I look at the name, Barnes, James B. and everything comes back to me, well most of it. There are parts of my memory where stuff becomes hazzy and unclear.
One of the mirrors slides open and female in blue scrubs walks into the room. She looks nervous, almost as if she's afraid to do something wrong and later get in trouble for it. I narrow my eyes at her, "Where am I and who the heck are you?"
"Jessica," she squeaks. "My name is Jessica."
"Well... Jessica, where exactely am I?"
"I-I don't know. You're not the only one that he took."
"Who's he?" I ask and get off the bed, causing her to whimper at my movement.
"I can't say," she whispers in a hushed voice.
"Can't or won't?" I walk closer to her and bring my face inches from hers. Her brown eyes widen and she turns deathly pale.
The mirror door opens again, I look behind Jessica to see the newcomer. He's an old man with long white hair and an eyepatch over his left eye. He's dressed in all gold colors and has a very tall golden staff in his hands. Another figure comes in behind him, this one much younger. He has long blond hair that fall down behind him in locks. He has a bright red cape on and is in grey amror. His blue eyes look at the older man with unease, "Father, I don't think we should be approaching the matter like this."
"Silence," the old man says harshly to his son and keeps his eye on me.
Our eyes lock and I get a strange feeling that there's more to this old man than what meets the eye. He looks old but he doesn't move like an older person would, he walks like someone who younger and arrogant. He tries to not pay attention to his son but he keeps glancing at him like he's afraid of something. Interesting.
"Who are you and where the heck am I?" I demand at him.
Jessica squeaks and rushes out of the room when he dissmisses her. He stares at me with calculating eyes, like he's trying to guess what my next move will be. "I am Odin, King of Asgard. This," he motions to his son, "is my son, Thor."
I eye Thor who smiles and waves at me. I roll my eyes. I put my eyes back on Odin, for some reason I feel like he's a wolf in sheep's clothing, pretending to be nice and friendly while underneath he's really a monster. "Why am I here?" I ask with the slihtest of edge in my voice.
"Becuase you hold something very dear to us," Thor replies.
"What is exactly is that?"
"It's called the Tesseract. It is extremely powerful," Odin says.
I look down at myself and laugh," Um, guys? I incase you haven't noticed, I have nothing on me!"
"We never said it was ON you," Odin says with a small smile that quickly disappears when Thor looks at him.
My eyes widen and I back up against a mirror. "If not on my, then where?" I ask, already dreading the answer.
"In. The Tesseract is inside of you."
