After a few minutes of ringing the bell the door finally opens to a group of young people starring at you.
"Right on time miss l/n", Ms. Peregrine says with a smile motioning you to step inside.
You step forward. You take note that everyone is staring at you and your face burns with embarrassment.
"Children this is y/n and she will now be joining us for... well forever."
Everyone smiled at you, all but one. A tall older-looking boy in the back.
"Welcome, I'm Emma," a blond girl said approaching you and taking your suit case from your hands.
"I'm Olive," a red haired girl said with a wave.
"Bronwym," a young girl said smiling.
"Millard," a random voice said.
"He's invisible," whispered Emma.
The rest stated their names one after the other until it came to that tall boy in the back. He had the most annoyed look on his face.
You starred at him waiting for an introduction. It seemed like an eternity as he looked you up and down as if you were in the wrong for something.
"Enoch," Emma said harshly.
"What? Do you really think we need a new girl here? I never agreed for a newb to just show up to the house. Do us all a favor and why don't you just-"
"ENOUGH," shouted Ms. Peregrine.
You could feel your heart get heavy as his words sank in. Your face grew hot once more and you looked to the ground in shame.
Concerned eyes drew back to Enoch as he stormed off.
"Don't mind him, he's always been like that. That's Enoch," Olive told you grabbing your chin and making you face her.
"Come on, we'll show you your room," Emma smiled.
You forced a smile to your lips and followed the kind blond and red haired girls.
