The fire was on in Alfie's house and Alfie was asleep. We had gotten back from our trip into town ages ago and spent the rest of the afternoon on our laptops editing videos. I was looking in vlogmas a bit more and Alfie was just being lazy.

We had dinner together and then Alfie fell asleep. It had apparently been a long day for him. Alfie's mum was out so I was alone whilst Alfie slept. I didn't mind though, I loved Alfie's house, it was so beautiful and homey at the same time.

I walked up to the fireplace and warmed my hands a bit before sitting down on the couch. I hadn't really brought anything downstairs to do and was just sitting there thinking. Then I saw a book on the coffee table and I picked it up. I didn't recognise the title but I opened it anyway and started to read it.

Before I knew it I was half way through the book. It was really good, I couldn't put it down. I wanted to read more but I was suddenly really tired. I decided to shut my eyes for a little rest, and before I knew it I was fast asleep.

"Zoe wake up, you have to be in London right now. Zoe!"

"What?" I asked sitting up. Alfie was standing in front of me. The fire was out and light was streaming through the windows. It was the next day and I had a meeting in London. I glanced down at my watch, it was already noon. My meeting was at two. There was no way I was going to make it.

It took a few moments for the realisation that I was late to click in but once it did I was off the couch and halfway up the stairs. I was never late for anything. I couldn't be late for a silly meeting.

"Zoe, calm down. You'll make it," Alfie said encouragingly.

"I love you Alfie, but I can't calm down!" I said rushing to pack everything.

Alfie and I were so perfect for each other because we were complete opposites. That's why I loved him.
