Part 1
"Will you marry me?"
Those are the four words that turned my life into a rollercoaster ride. I should have said no, but how would I have known? How was I supposed to know that marrying the man I loved would be my ultimate destruction?
... It all started when I was a teenager during senior year at high school. During that last year of school, my best friend, Taylor, and I met Peter Ramirez. He was bold, hot, caring and talented. I liked him.
Eventually we ended up dating. We dated throughout the whole of senior year and my friends and I even got a chance to be part of his squad. The squad was composed of Jeff, Alex, Lucy and Morgan, who were Peter's friends. And, Taylor, James and Eliot, who were my friends. We were called 'The squad' because we were the biggest, baddest, coolest gang of trouble makers. Thinking about it now, we were one hell of a bunch.
But, senior year ended and so did my relationship with Peter. Sure, we all stayed in touch over the summer, but we really did miss each other. So, imagine my surprise when I found out that my high school boyfriend was in the same university as me; Nevada University in Las Vegas.
Now you're probably wondering, "what kind of wierdo goes to university in Vegas, its the biggest distraction ever." Well, you would be surprised by how well going to Vegas paid off. See, I majored in art and design and ended up being an interior designer. And in a city where new places are always being built, having this type of job pays off
Anyway, Peter and I met again in Vegas and were so happy to see each other again. But this time we were mature about things, we didn't wanna just jump into a relationship that would lead to nothing but trouble. So, we took things slow and tried to get to know each other more. Back in highschool, it was all about making out and being the 'it' couple; Peter and I were never friends before our relationship. So after we got to know each other better, I started to fall in love with him.
By that time, we were already in a relationship and things were going great. We even lived in the same hostel together and would face time all of our friends every night; everything was perfect. I had the perfect guy, perfect friends, perfect half time job as a junior interior designer for a hotel not too far from our school.
Everything was great, until graduation day.
Graduation Day
"OMG, yes. I did it! I finally got my bachelor's in design. My life finally begins," I screamed and Peter and my parents wouldn't stop laughing at me."
"I'm so proud of you baby. You lived in this city for four years and managed to not get side tracked. You worked hard and kept pushing and you have finally done it. Congratulations my love," my mother said hugging me and I started to cry.
"Hey, don't start the water works ladies. I haven't even given my speech yet," Peter said and we all laughed.
"Peter dear, you never stop amusing me," my mother smiled at him and he smirked.
"But seriously, babe I'm so proud of you, of us. We've managed to keep our heads down and keep persevering for four years. These four years have not only been the most stressful but also the best years of my life. And I'm so happy that I got to spend them with you. You're so amazing and I'm so lucky to have you. Thank you for supporting me these past years. You're everything to me Zoe," he said and I immediately broke down in tears. I gave him a long hug before we broke into a make out session.
"Really you two? If this wasn't a match made in heaven then only Lord knows what it is," my father said rolling his eyes and we couldn't help but laugh. My dad wasn't the most fun and spontaneous guy in the world, but he was my father and I loved him. I was so happy that he canceled his plans at the church today to come and see me start my life.
