I was in the midst of the fight. In the midst of all the rubble, bodies, and badly aimed spells. It's not as easy to duel when there are so many other things to be aware of simultaneously. There's a risk that one of the badly aimed spells will hit you, and a high chance that that spell was deadly.
I am currently in that situation.
"jade, watch out!" I hear the familiar sound of my boyfriends voice, and turn my head a fraction. All I see is the bright green light of the spell traveling towards me.
Everything was going in slow motion. It felt like I was moving through water. I couldn't get out of the way fast enough. The green engulfs me, and I am completely terrified.
And then all I can see is blackness.
