Awake with my eyes still shut
Somewhere between asleep and aware
Just conscious enough
To feel your breath, slow and steady
Tickling my neck
As your arm draped over me
Tightens, as if you know I am awake
To feel your warmth, all down my back
Safe and peaceful
You sigh softly in your sleep
And I smile and drift back
Knowing perfection
