Fool Me Once and the Second Time is... a Fail
"Um, are you sure about this, guys?" you whisper nervously to the Karasuno volleyball team who were with you as you all silently crept towards the place where Aoba Johsai's team was having a sleepover in. Practice had ended pretty late that day and since it was Halloween, Nishinoya had suggested to play a prank on the opposing volleyball team. No matter how many times you pointed out that it wasn't a good idea, the rest of the team had agreed to go with so much enthusiasm— even Suga and Asahi— that you had decided to accompany them in their pointless quest to serve as their babysitter.
I mean, what can they get out of doing this, anyways? you thought to yourself miserably as you continued on to your journey to Hajime-senpai's house, where according to Nishinoya, the whole volleyball team was staying in.
"Of course we are, [L/N]!" Hinata replied to you as he pumped his fist into the air excitedly. "This is the first prank I've ever done so we all have to do this right!"
You shook your head and smiled, entertained by Shoyou's enthusiasm at finally pranking someone— no, a whole volleyball team— for the first time. As you looked around at your group of friends, you realized that even Asahi, who was usually a coward when it came to these things, seemed to be excited as well. You remembered vividly when Aoba Johsai had also managed to prank all of them (excluding the first years now, of course), including you, last Halloween when they coated all the doorknobs with gel so your hands would slide whenever you tried to twist it open. It took at least an hour to get rid of the thick coat of gel from all the doorknobs you could find and another half to rip down all the printed-out pictures of "The Grudge" from the windows.
"We'll finally be able to get them back for last year!" Tanaka whopped loudly and continuously pumped his fist into the air along with Hinata as they skipped to go ahead of all of you in sync.
"Oi, idiots! Shut up before you let the whole neighborhood know that we're here!" Daichi went after them, pulling at their shirts and ears as soon as he caught up to them. You laughed quietly at their enthusiasm and decided to join Daichi and the other two up front.
"He's right, guys. Keep it down a little, will you? Who knows what'll happen if we get caught?" you whispered to them as you placed a finger in front of your smiling lips.
Tanaka immediately turned as red as a tomato and clamped his mouth shut, walking straight ahead without making so much of a sound.
"They're all something aren't they?" Daichi muttered quietly to you as soon as they all walked out of earshot as the both of you brought up the rear. The corners of your mouth twitched and you rolled eyes at Daichi, playfully punching his shoulder. "They really are," you reply sincerely, stopping to look up at the sky. Although it was already night by the time all of you had went out of the gym, you hadn't really noticed how bright the stars seemed to be as they scattered across the night sky.
