Sam was going on a long trip to California to see her great-aunt. She lived all the way in Connecticut. Sam didn't know why she had to go all the way to California to see her when she had to go to her best friend's birthday party that weekend. Sam was so mad her head could have blown up. " Why do we even have to go all the way to California? ", Sam said.
" She is very sad and she needs help what else am I supposed to do? ", her mom asked. " Not go.", Sam mumbled. Finally, they got on the highway. Her mom and her dad started singing " Somewhere Over The Rainbow ". Sam put in her headphones so she didn't have to listen and looked out the window. When she looked out the window she saw a very pale man with ripped up clothes and long tangled hair.
Sam felt a weird feeling from him but didn't know what it was. Sam ended up falling asleep and waking up two hours later. Sam's mom said, " Sam, we are halfway to Aunt Shirley's house." " I don't care.", Sam said under her breath. The truth was Sam didn't care all she wanted to do was go to her best friend's birthday party.
Out of the corner of her eye she saw something moving. She turned and saw it was that man again. Sam knew we weren't going that slow so how did that man keep coming back. That was the fourth time she saw him. Then she saw a sign that said "Welcome to California." She wasn't even worried about the man anymore.
When they pulled into the parking space of her great aunt's house her great aunt come out and hugged her mom. " I'm sorry about your husband can I see a picture of him ?", Sam's mom said. Her aunt showed her mom the picture and Sam knew that man from somewhere. Then she realized who it was-it was the man on the side of the highway.
