The day was October , 2032. I was 5 years old. My older brother, Justin, and I had just came in from school. Our parents  were laughing, cutting up, and fixing supper. We were having breakfast for supper, which signified my mother and father had some good news. My mom looked at my brother and me. "Kids, your father and I have some very important news I'm not only having one baby, but two. They will be here any day," she cheered with excitement in her voice. I had already figured she had something great to say and this was exactly what I had expected. Her stomach had grew so much in such a little time and to think about being able to have twin siblings. That filled my heart with joy.

"Mommy," I bellowed, when you have them please don't forget about me." I ask, I was worried because I was the baby.  I was her pride and joy and now I would have to share it with two other babies.

" I won't. How could I ever forget about my angel?" she assured me with a smile.

Then she picked me up and ticked me. My father also tickled me and said, "You silly little gober, your mother and I could never forget about you." He was so in love with her, they were the idea couple. My parents made anyone want to fall in love.

Then I heard a voice over the intercom announcing," Madsen family, please come to the stadium." At this voice my family went still. As a child it frightened me to hear this, the intercom was so scary and usually when someone was called it meant death. Death was such a scary word, my family needed everyone and this wasn't how I thought life would go.

Within an instant my mother grabbed my fathers hand, my older brother Justin picked me up and carried me to the thing called death. My parents wrapped their arms around Justin and I as we walked. Everything was silent. It was so silent that you could hear a pen drop. I reached for my mother and wrapped my tiny arms arms around her neck refusing to let go. There was no way I would ever let my mom go.

"Roseanna Madsen, you have been drawn,"The speaker stated harshly. My father gulped shaking his head as he went mad. My brother knew what would happen if he tried to fight this. Just held my father back soothing him and whispering something in his ears before stepping forward and looking at me. Momma whispered words in my ear that I couldn't quiet understand before taking off her locket and placing it around my neck, "More than my own life." She whispered kissing my cheek and handing me off to my father.  Momma than moved to Justin. My bright blue eyes watched closely as she handed him her engagement and wedding band.  After Justin said his goodbyes my father moved forward wrapping his arms around my mother. "My darling please stay strong." She whispered. My father had tears in his eyes as he pressed kisses to her face and lips.  Before I could say anything else a man in black with a cover over his face walked forward pulling my mother away from my father.

As my mother was finally upon stage the man smiled the most wicked smile I had ever seen. "You're pregnant.." He stated before looking over at the rest and binding my mother's hands behind her back. He walked away talking to the others as one walked over placing a cloth on her mouth.  "We are gonna do this the hard way. I don't believe babies should be killed." He stated looking to the crowd. I looked at my brother my eyes widening as he forced my head into his shoulder.

I heard my father's voice before anything. "Get her out of her Justin. Don't let her see this. Go!" He commanded before I felt Justin begin to run with me in his arms as fast as he could. Before long there was a scream and baby cries in the distant. My heart nearly exploded as tears fell like rain that day.

||At the top is a picture of Roseanna. She was extremely young as most people are in that time rang.
