Violet Aurora Shimmer

I have lived in the shadows all alone years and years... I have the curse....to control people....to do what I want them to do....even if it only works on them once.... Is it a curse....or a gift?

It all started that day when I got in a fight with my mother. I was furious and ran outside, into the dangerous world. The immortals always roam outside of the houses and buildings, waiting for a human to foolishly go out. Then...they strike and somebody always dies. Why did this world have to be like this?

"Come back, Violet!" My mother yelled after me. I didn't listen to her at that time and now I regretted it... I ignored her calls and cries and headed straight into a dark forest. After walking further down in the forest, I wanted to rest and leaned my back on the wall, panting from my run.

"Oh, look, Dan, a foolish little human girl has entered into our forest," Chuckled somebody. Fear had rushed into me. And that moment I regretted running outside from my safe home and into a dangerous world. In an instant, two young adults appeared in front of me. They looked teenagers but it was heard that vampires and demons always look the same,  they're age changes, nothing else. Except for being more thirsty and wanting more powet,

"Why are you here? Don't you listen to the rumors or stories you've been hearing around," Hissed one of them. "Jeeze, Dan, you're going to scare off our prey," Huffed the second one. At that moment, I was scared and couldn't say anything nor run away. After all I was their...prey...

"Let's hurry and finish her off. Others will come soon and fight us for her, Derek," Dan rushed, in all of a sudden. Fear made my heart beat fast, like a cheetah running after his/her prey. I was going to die and very soon. I now wished I hadn't run away like a foolish girl. After all, their was a high chance of my dying today and in the nest minutss.

"This'll be more interesting now. Her heart beat is beating faster than before. She's scared. What a pity," Derek lifted up my chin with two fingers, staring into my dark sea blue eyes. He grimaced and then immediately went to bite me on the neck when....

"VIOLET!" ! Derek sighed in annoyance and released me and stared in the direction the voice was heard. It was my mother. She can't come out. She'll be dead too. And she did die, to protect me, but who am I to protect with this curse now? Me or the humans? Mother ran to me, the vampires allowed her, they were welcoming her to become part of their meal,  she wrapped her arms protectively around me, eyes widened in fear. "Please! Spare my daughter and have me instead!" She begged the vampires, desperate in her voice. My eyes slightly widened at her foolish words.

"Which one do you want, Dan?" Derek asked him, ignoring my mother's begging. Dan eyed us carefully. "I'll take the women, her blood is my favorite type and as for the girl....kill her, keep her, whatever the hell you want to do to her," Dan answered. He grabbed my mother's wrist and pulled her in front of him. Derek chuckled obviously pleased by Dan's reaction.

"Wait. Don't kill her. Please release her. Why did I also have to say things to protect an other? You can keep me if you want and do whatever you want but releae my mother!" The words ran out of my mouth so fast, I didn't think about what I was going to say to get my mother out of th I mess I made. "Humans, so disgraceful!" Dan spat, glaring at me. Anger flashed in me. How dare he mock us? I should have kept my mouth quiet, the next words raced out of my mouth.

"You are a disgraceful creature! We're not tools for you all to please! We were all fine and had a fine world till you all disgusting creatures came and killed our kinds!" I hissed. Dan's cold black eyes flashed bright pink and he sank, so fast I couldn't even blink, into my mother's flesh neck with his fangs..,

My eyes widens and I couldn't hear her cries of pain. I fell down to the ground, my head down in horror and disbelief. No tears came from my eyes. I was shocked and surprised even though I knew they would kill her and me soon. Soon, anger flashed in my eyes. They had killed my mother.

I leapt up from the ground and went to tackle Dan, the one that killed my mother. He, of course, saw this coming and stopped me. He slammed me into the tree, choking me, trying to kill me. I can't breathe!

"Wait, don't kill her, Dan, remember she's mine," Derek objected. Dan glared at me, still angry, but in the end, he released me. I could breathe again. I touched my neck with my hands and found it sore. It was probably going to swell tomorrow and turn into a bruise.

"I'll kill her instead," Derek finished off and grabbed my neck with his bare hands. My eyes widened and I knew this was the end of my life. He smiled at me, happy to know that I was scared and knew what would happen me soon, very soon, too soon.

"Aye, no one shall kill anyone today, you two," A voice interrupted. "Dammit, it's Sarah," Derek cursed. "So, Dan, Derek. Who is this girl?" Derek took a few steps away, showing a long curly blonde haired lady with hazel eyes.

"A human, what else?" Dan retorted. Sarah shot him a soft glare and then looked at me and smiled. "I have found her," She murmured happily.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Derek asked. "Father is calling for you two, you both have better leave," Sarah said, ignoring him. "When we kill the girls we'll leave," Dan said.

"I'll take care of her," Sarah smiled evily. Somehow I knew it was a kind of an act but the two of them didn't know. "You had better," Dan huffed and left. "Kill her painfully," Derek smirked and then left after Dan.

"What's your name?" Sarah asked. "Its Violet Winter," I whispered. Why was I even giving out my personal information? Oh. Maybe, it's cause I'm going to die today. "Your not going to get killed anytime soon," Sarah said. My eyes immediately contacted her, confusion in them.

"You see, Winter, I know your family and the past, I was told when I was young to find you and give you something one your family members invented," Sarah explained. "You know my family and my past?" I questioned and narrowed my eyes at her. She nodded. "Will you accept the gift?"

"Depends on what it is exactly," I answered. "Will you accept the gift or not?" She asked again. "Fine..." I said. Sarah smiled and then walked towards me. I took a step back, pressing my back on the tree. What was she going to do to me? "I am truly sorry, Violet, but bare the pain for a little bit," She murmured and then snapped my neck.
