I'm fine. I don't know how many times I've said that today, all the familiar faces gave me false hope, that things might go back to normal someday. Deep down I knew that could never happen. Not when I still felt the bullet pushing it's way into my body. And the worst of all, the nightmares. Nothing of what happened that night, only his face, his eyes, his nose, his lips, his jawline, his voice. I could never picture his hole face, only the small perfect pieces. Thoughts swimming around in my head making me numb. I felt a cold hand against my shoulder.
-Ava! It's been to long ey? Jamie's thick Australian accent filled the hallways and all the students and teachers stopped talking, the girl everyone has been talking about was just about to speak. It felt like I stood on a stage wanting to come down.
-Let's talk somewhere else yeah? Jamie put his arm around my back and lead me outside to the parking lot.
-Do you want to talk about it? I shook my head.
-Okay then! Let's talk about my stepfather being a jerk.
-You're still going on and on about that bullshit mate?
-There we go! The mute girl talks at last!
-Shut up Jamie. I pushed him playfully while grinning at him.
-Let's go. First lesson is about to start. He stood up brushing his black hair out of his face while reaching his hand down to help me up from the grass.
-No thanks Mate, I can get up without help. I stood up brushing of my jeans checking if I have any green stains. In the corner of my eye I saw someone approaching me. I quickly turned around staring into familiar eyes, not being able to remember were I've seen the perfect ice blue color before. He stood closely in front of me, not saying a word. Just looking deep into my eyes. It was kind of intimidating to be honest, but like the jerk I well am I decided to stare back at him with a cold hard expression. He almost seemed surprised under all layers of coldness about my determination. This was the first part of the story "bloody mess" I'll try and update as frequently as I can, byeee❤️
