I'M BACK! So I've been playing around with this idea for a few months now and I've decided to finally start it. It's something completely different to the Dan fics already floating around so hopefully this'll go down well. Please comment on what you think about the story plot or what you think about this chapter. And please vote, it really inspires me to continue writing the next chapter! Sending love .x.

Jessica Venetti had been locked up all her life. Her ex-agent parents ran away from the agency to keep her 'protected'. That was the verb her mother and father told her. Jessica had a few expletives that she felt would be much better suited to her situation. After her 25th birthday in isolation, Jessica had enough. She ran away. She just wanted one weekend where she could look at something other than the same four walls. Jessica had planned to come back. She just wanted three days. Except, the universe had different plans for her. And her favourite driver

Aged 16.

"Mum, please! I don't understand. Why can't I have friends? Go to normal school? Or even leave the house? I'm sick of this mum, I can't, I can't take it anymore!"

Once again, Jessica Venetti was begging for her life. Not in the traditional gun-to-your-head type, but for her to be able to live. For sixteen years now she had been stuck in this old house in the middle of the countryside. Not that the surroundings of the house mattered for she had never stepped foot outside the door. Never once had she smelt the fresh air, nor the wind in her hair.

"No Jessica. I have told this too many times now. You will not, nor never will, leave this house. Do you understand me? Never. Now go to your room."

Jessica blinked once. Twice. She should have known this by now. She should know by now that no matter how many words were begged, or how many tears shed. She would never leave this house for reasons unknown to herself. Jessica tucked her hair behind her and swiftly turned back to her 'room'.

Aged 25. (Present)

Jessica blinked the memory away. How little had changed since that day nearly ten years ago. She was, of course, still locked away in the house in the countryside. Both her and the house had deteriorated. As had her parents. While they would never let her outside the house, they realised that perhaps the garden was acceptable. So every night since the new agreement, Jessica sat outside until late into the evening, reading classical novels or learning about something new in the world.

But today was different. Today was her birthday. Jessica never had 'normal' birthdays. While normal people her age would probably open presents with their family, have lunch together before going out to celebrate with her friends, Jessica would get one present.

For her 18th birthday, she got access to the garden.

Her 20th, her first takeaway meal.

Her 24th, all day access to television.

Nothing materialistic. Never new clothes or a new mobile phone.

Sighing, Jessica pulled back the duvet covers and climbed out of her bed. 8am dead on she was expected to be downstairs at the breakfast table. 9am would the hot water be turned on for exactly thirty minutes. Hours between 9:30 and 18:00 would be dedicated to studying. 18:30 would be evening meal time. 19:30 she would be pleased to do as she wanted until 22:00 where she was locked back into her bedroom.

While her parents had left the agency for the secret agents in order to protect her, they didn't seem to want to be any more lenient than their parents. Not that it mattered anymore, it was simply routine. Jessica was used to it.

"Happy Birthday, Jessica."

"Thank you mother." She sighed in reply as she slid into a seat at the table in the dining area. She quickly placed two pancakes onto her plate before drowning them in syrup, ignoring the distasteful looks from her parents. She didn't care anymore. She was done with this life. She wanted out.

"We were thinking for your birthday, you could watch the Grand Prix practice while  you study." Now that made Jessica look up in surprise. Being locked away meant that she had a lot of time to research and find plenty of interests. And one her firm favourites was Formula One. She'd been following the sport for several years now, however, living in a Central European time zone, meant that most races fell into the time block which was clearly labelled 'Study'. Therefore, she spent her evenings, her only spare time, reading and watching highlights of the races.

Never had she been able to watch her favourite race live. Well...at least she'd be able to watch the FP1 and FP2 live whilst she studied.

If only she would ever be able to go. It was a dream. One she'd never be able to fulfil.  Having a lot of time to herself she knew that she was in the same city as her favourite race; Monaco. Which is the same place as this weekend's race.

Maybe...

An idea suddenly sprung to her mind. What if she sneaked away tonight to go and see. Just see how close she could get to the action. To freedom. To all the things she had been imagining since she was a young girl who knew what her life was to be.

If this life she lived was Hell, she wanted to taste Heaven.
