She sat and watched as her last family member screamed for her help.
"Izzy, help me!" Her youngest brother screamed. He was barely 6, it wasn't fair he did nothing wrong.
She let tears roll down her face and whispered, "I can't."
"Izzy!" He pleaded one last time before it was to late.
"Goodbye my youngest one." She said to her quietly to herself as the shadows filed out of her room. She stared at the place where the last of her family had disappeared into the unknown.
Izzy sat on her little bed and remembered when they first started to take her family. She stroked the side of her bed she shared with her younger sister, Jane, she was the second to go.
She rested her head on the cold wall, took a deep breath in, and let even more tears roll down her flushed cheeks and hit the skin of her neck.
"It's over now, it's all okay." She reassured herself.
She was 7 when they took her mum. The first to go.
"Mother! Mother, where are you?" A young Izzy called out, gripping the tattered, blue blanket to her chest. "Mother?"
The bottom of her night gown was wet and muddy from the wet corn fields she just walk out from.
"Izabella!" A faint, female yell called just behind the barn. Izzy picked up her night gown and ran to the sound of the sound. As she rounded the barn the screams got louder the more she got scared.
"Izzy!" It was her mother, her mother shouldn't be out this late, but then again, nether should she.
What was she doing out so late anyway? She was asleep, but she awoke to the screams of many people. She sat up right with and look over at her younger sister, she was 5, and then looked over to her other side where her older sister slept, she was 15, the oldest of the children. She looked over to the small door way and saw a shadow walked past and up the stairs, but no foots steps were heard.
"Come, child, follow."
And that's how it all started. She should of gone back to sleep, but she didn't.
She watched in horror has her mother was thrown across yard by darkness and hit the barn wall. Just as she hit the wall, she looked into Izzy's pale green eyes.
"Run." she mouthed, and that was it, her only mother was gone, swallowed into darkness. All that was left of her mother was her blood that was painted all over the dirty wood.
"Mother?" Izzy whispered stepping closer to where her mother disappeared, "Moth-"
She slipped and landed in the red blood. She starting crying and screaming, "Mother, come back!"
After that night her family disappeared one by one.
And now, it was just her, all by herself on little wooden bed. Morning the loss of the last of her family.
Anger soon replaced sadness and before she knew what she was doing, she screamed at the top of her little lungs.
"Why did you not just take me?!" She ran up the old wooden stairs and into the living area of the house, "My family did nothing to you and now they are gone because you do not have a half a brain, you fool!" She screamed at the shadows.
"Child, I am no fool, the case here is that you shouldn't have played will things you can't fix when they are broken."
"I am no child no more after I have seen the things you have do to my family!" Her weak 11 year old voice was not nearly as loud as the calm voices of the shadows.
"But you see ,my sweetest, you are not a woman grown, so if you wish to see the day when you become woman, I recommend you leave us be." Their voices now just a whisper in her ear.
"You took everything away from me." Her voice weak and sad, they almost pitied her.
Almost.
She was left in the cold, dark cottage that once was full of life and love.

The chapters will be much longer by the way.
