"First day of school. First day of school." Clark mumbled as he made his way down the crowded hall. He tried his hardest to make it by without tripping over the things he couldn't see. It was hard being blind and harder when he made himself invisible for three years straight and no one ever dares approach the blind kid.

Clark wasn't bullied or ignore but no one really knew how to approach him and it was harder when he made sure to move as far away as possible, from any person in the hearing distance. Going to the same school and making sure to remember his classes location was the only befit he had at the moment. "Just a few more steps" he whispered to himself as he counted the steps from when his mom had dropped him off at the front.

When he had finally made it, he placed his hand on the wall, reading the braille letter to see if this was his right class and there it was, under his touch, "English four" Clark let out a heavy sigh as he marched into the room. His ears moved around in search for any noise but the room was quiet. Another sigh but this was one of relief as he moved around the room, testing to see where he could hear better.

After a few minutes of wondering around, Clark found himself in the middle of the classroom. He let out another sigh of annoyance before placing his bag down and dropping down into the chair. Sitting in the middle of the room would only cause even more annoyance and making him more visible to the other students.

The bell had ringed and the heavy steps of the students walking in made his ears ring. No one spoke to him, but they did turn to look in his direction, Clark knew. Heavy eyes always made his skin crawl. "I feel sorry for him, will be able to understand" voices were always being whispered around him and it always made his stomach turn.

"I'm blind, not deaf," Clark thought as he adjusts himself in his seat. The class had officially begun, and Clark knew that his hard life as a senior would soon begin.  "Hello, I'm Mrs. Smith" a rather polished voice spoke and Clark could picture a small plump woman in the front, with grays just popping from her skull.

She began calling names, adding a small ring to each name and it was causing a small headache to happen. "Clark, Clark Davis" her high pitch voice called out and Clark slowly raised his hand as the room went quiet. There was a small gasp from Mrs. Smith which made Clark want to smack his teeth in annoyance.

"Clark, would you prefer to sit closer to the front?" she asked in a voice to sweet in cause Clark cavities. He slowly shooked his head causing Mrs. Smith to let out a large sigh. "alright but if you need to move closer I gladly allow it" she adds. Clark just nodded his head before adjusting his dark shades.

It was going to be a long year.

The day had gone on with awkward interactions and lunch was even worse. Clark had never looked in a mirror, well he has but he's never seen anything but the many whispers he would hear about his look made it certain he was a fine looking gentleman, especially when girls try to help him with his lunch.

Sadly Clark had no skills in speaking with people and always had to awkwardly reject their offers, sat alone, ate alone and went to class alone. It wasn't fun but that was the only way Clark knew how to act and when he sat in last period science class alone, he knew he would be just fine.

Names were being called and again the question that was always asked was asked again. "Clark would you like to sit closer" and like always, Clark would say no. The class had officially begun when the door had slam open causing everyone to jump in surprise.

"Ms. Leona! I Can't be having you running late, especially being the top student" the balding teacher spoke.

"I'm sorry I got lost" the strong voice replied and Clark tensed himself because he knew who that voice belong to and he feared it. "Don't use that petty excuse! This will be your fourth year here, you should know where the classes are" he yelled before sighing. Clark wishes he could see, to see the frustration on the teacher's face and the smirking smile he knew she would have.

"You know, just come in. Clark will be your partner for the year" he said causing Clark to freeze. He had hoped to work alone but to work with her was terrifying. His social skills were no good and to use them on her was an even worse idea.

"That fine!" she said with excitement making Clark tense up even more. "You hear that Clark your mine!" she said with a laugh which was stop by a harsh whisper of someone else.

"Leona! He's blind" Clark felt a large tug of annoyance at the girl's words but soon relaxed when he hears  Leona response. "He's blind not deaf," she says with a huff before walking towards her partner. Yes, it was going to be a long year.
