Chapter Twelve

"It's you guys," I said. This could not be happening. My phone buzzed again.

From: Luke

We get to meet the boys now! I can't believe this!

"Oh my gosh. This can not be happening," I whispered as a concerned look crossed Niall's face.

"What is it?"

"He's here. Luke and his band are here. Right now. To meet you guys."

"Well,-," Niall started before Zayn stopped him.

"By the way guys," Zayn yelled from the kitchen, "our new opening act is stopping by today to meet us!"

"Cool!" said Harry. "Who are they?"

"Five Seconds of Summer..."I said bitterly.

"Woah. How'd you know?" Zayn asked me.

"'Cause I dated one of them. We just broke up a few weeks ago," I told them all. No one said anything; it was silent. After a few moments of silence we heard a knock on the door.

"I'll get it," Liam said quietly as he stood up and started walking towards the door.

"Do you want to go somewhere else?" Niall asked me.

"No, I'm fine. I'm not gonna let him control my plans and my life." He gave me a look and acted like he was going to say more but then stopped.

We could all here Liam from the kitchen. "Hi! You must be Five Seconds of Summer. I'm Liam, nice to meet you!" As they started walking towards the kitchen door, I began to get nervous. I hadn't seen or really talked to Luke since we broke up. Honestly, I didn't know for sure if I was even over him yet.

Luke looked amazing. My breath caught when I saw him walk through the door. He was looking at the floor so he hadn't seen me yet. As always, he was wearing dark skinny jeans with his favorite Nirvana shirt. Sometimes I wondered if he had anything else in his closet. His band filed in behind him, making the kitchen quite crowded. Luke looked up from the floor and had a smile on his face. It was his true smile, the one that could light up a room. God how I had missed it. He slowly looked around the room and his smile faded when he got to me.

"Katie?" he said, confused. "Is it really you? I thought you were at school?"

"It doesn't start for another week," I told him. We both stood there awkwardly with nothing else to say.

"Hi, Katie..." Calum said quietly. This broke my heart. Calum and I had met through Luke and he had become one of my best friends. Since Luke and I broke up, we hadn't really spoken. I missed him so much. I could tell him everything and vice versa. We knew everything about each other.

"Hello Katie," Michael and Ashton said at the same time. I had been friends with them as well, but we weren't nearly as close as Calum and I.

"Hi guys," I said sadly. This was killing me. I didn't just lose Luke, I lost some really close friends, too.

After a few moments of this silence, Harry spoke. "Well, my name's Harry! What about you guys?"

The boys shifted their gaze towards Harry, away from Luke and I. "My name's Ashton. This is Calum," he said pointing to the boy with a sad smile on his face, "this is Michael, the one with colored hair. And lastly we have Luke, the one staring at Katie." Suddenly, all eyes were on Luke and I. I could feel my face growing hot, all I wanted to do was get out of that kitchen.

"If you could excuse me for just a minute," I said as I walked out of the kitchen. Not even seconds later I felt someone touch my arm and pull me around. When I looked up I saw Luke looking down at me.
