It's kinda embarrassing how easy I get lost in your eyes. {Chapter Eleven}

Maggie’s POV

“Got it!” I yelled, as I bumped the volleyball into the air.

I watched as Mikala spiked it over the net.

Campbell and Josh scrambled trying to hit it, but they ended up bumping into each other and falling to the ground.

I ran up to Mikala and gave her a high five.

“For your first time playing, you’re pretty good!” Mikala said, smiling.

“Thanks!” I said, smiling back.

“We give up. That’s the 7th time we missed the ball.” Campbell said, ducking under the net to come over to us.

I watched as Josh grabbed the ball and did the same.

“I knew we’d win!” Mikala cheered.

We all laughed.

Mikala checked her phone and frowned.

“I have to go. But I had fun today! We have to do it again!” Mikala said, hugging each of us.

When Mikala left, we decided that we should head back now.

We all walked back to Cody’s in silence.

When we walked in the door, Cody was watching TV on the couch and Jake was in the kitchen making a sandwich.

“How did everything with the dentist go?” Campbell asked Cody.

Cody smiled with his teeth.

“It doesn’t even look like it was chipped!” Josh said, looking closely at Cody’s teeth.

Cody laughed.

“That’s what I’m saying man!” Cody said.

Jake motioned for me to go in the kitchen.

I walked over and stood in front of him.

“Cody likes you.” He whispered in my ear.

“Of course he does. We’re friends…” I said.

“No, I mean like, like.” Jake said.

I raised my eyebrows.

“No he doesn’t.” I said, laughing.

Jake slapped his sandwich down on the plate.

“Yes he does! I swear!” Jake said loudly.

Everyone looked at us.

Cody gave a dirty look at Jake.

“Jake, were you supposed to tell me that?” I whispered in his ear.

“No…” He whispered back.

“Jake…did you just tell her what I think you told her?” Cody asked, slowly getting up from the couch with a smirk on his face.

Jake looked at me.

“G’day, mate!” He said before sprinting out the door.

Cody looked at me and blushed.

I doubt he actually likes me though…

Cody sprinted out the door following Jake down the street.

“Well, Jake’s done.” Josh said, laughing.

“Yeah…” Campbell said, laughing as well.

“Cody doesn’t actually like me, does he?” I asked them.
