Peter’s POV:

My heart practically stopped when my son appeared from the bushes. I kept my dagger aimed at his chest and glared him down.

“What,” I spat, “Are you doing here Rumple?” A smile creeped onto his face as he began pacing around me.

“Well I see you’ve been having some new company around here lately,” he sneered, “I believe its Crystal, isn’t it? How’re things going?”

“You know everything that goes on with me. You know what’s been happening.”

“I can help you get her back.”

“I don’t need your help. She’ll just leave the island with Hook and we’ll all die. That’s…that’s…” I began getting choked up thinking about her leaving. Even though it seemed petty of me, I was willing to forgive her.

I wasn’t stupid. I know exactly why Rumple was here. All he wanted to do now was make a deal that would cost me a deep price… and Crystal could end up getting hurt; if that happened I would never forgive myself.

“I can see doubt in your eyes,” Rumple spoke smoothly, “But I truly want to help you.”

“I’m on my way to forgive Crystal. I still have her trust. She knows exactly what she did was wrong, and she’s probably beating herself up for it right now to the point of being sick!” The fury in my soul started burning.

Rumple walked up to me and clasped his hand on my wrist and lowered the dagger, our eyes cutting through each other.

“Who is she with?” He asked.

“Hook.” I replied hesitantly, the name rolling off my tongue like velvet. Rumple’s eyes widened to a great size; it looked as though I just told him I was about to kill him.

“She’s with Hook?! You need to go after her!” I narrowed my eyes, remaining calmer than he was.

“Why do you care so much all of a sudden?” I asked suspiciously, “You have never cared about me ever since our paths were separated.” A billion memories flashed through my mind as I spoke.

“Honestly, I don’t; but you owe it to the lass to save her before she gets hurt. You know as well as I do that she could be currently in a torture chamber down in the pits of the Jolly Roger right now! How did she even leave you?”

I looked down to the ground as tears began welling up in my eyes.

“I-I…” I tried holding in my tears, “Let her go with him… I completely lost all of my temper on her… I even called her a stupid mortal and that I basically wouldn’t care if she died. Even if she was in trouble then I wouldn’t be there to help her.” Rumple let go of my wrist and stepped back in awe.

“Are you crazy?!” He snapped, “How did she respond?” That last question did it, I broke down. I dropped to my knees and sobbed.

“SHE FELL TO THE GROUND AND BEGAN CRYING…JUST LIKE I AM RIGHT NOW… HOW COULD I BE SO HEARTLESS?” I cried. Rumple bent down and patted my back.

“Papa…” He said the word I never thought he’d say, “You need to go and find her before Hook does something bad. If you show up and save her, she’ll know that you truly care.” I looked at him and nodded.

“You’re right, laddie… but why are you giving me advice like this?”

“I had a love once too. I would’ve done everything for her.” I knew he spoke of Belle. He had to leave Storybrooke to save her life… details not needed.
