We sit across the woman that recruited us to be her students. She is quite attractive, with her dark tan skin, grey eyes, and long, sleek black hair. All of her features are obscured by the grey hood that she wears.
"Um, excuse me, but we never got your name," I squeak.
"My name is...." She trails off, and leans closer.
"You must not speak my name aloud. I've been dismissed from the military after I made a grave mistake," she says nervously.
"What's your name?" I ask, trying to speed things up.
"My name is Naomi Resk, the Storm Alchemist," she whispers.
I look at her. Naomi Resk, the Storm Alchemist? I've never heard of such a name, and she didn't look like someone who would screw something up so badly that she got dismissed from the military. She looks out the window as the rolling hills pass by. Assassin is in the cargo cart along with multiple cows. I made him swear that he'd control himself, and not devour the livestock. As I finally settled into the trains gentle swaying, it gives a violent shake. I jolt up, and look around. Four burly men lumber into the cart. They have masks covering their faces. Naomi looks aware of the situation, but does nothing.
"Everybody on the ground!" The smallest man yells in a gruff voice. We obey, and kneel on the ground. I glance up, and Naomi is still in the same position.
"Hey, lady! What did we tell you?!?" The man shouts advancing towards us.
"Miss Naomi! Please get down!" I beg at her feet.
"I don't take orders from men, including these two bulls," she replies coolly. The men walk towards us, and grabs Naomi. I hear a crack, and the man quickly pulls back, yelling.
"People never learn," she mutters, and slowly rises. The man pulls out two long knives, and rushes towards her.
She stands there as he rushes to her. When he swipes down to kill her, she quickly steps out of the way, grabs and twists his arm, and flips him over. He gets back up, and she swipes his feet from under him.
"Naomi! Use your Alchemy!" I whisper. She looks at me and rolls her eyes.
"I don't need to use it if I don't have to, especially with these imbeciles," she snaps. The man eventually backs away, and the largest one runs at her, shaking the car with each step. He then pulls a chain, and something growls. A large lion appears, it's long steel claws shining in the sunlight. It stalks closer, and the man charges. Naomi faces the two as the lion pounces and lands with a thud on top of her.

"Naomi!" I scream as blood starts to stain the blue carpet. No sounds come from her as the lion starts to make a chewing sound. I start smelling singed hair, and the lion screams as it launches into the air. Naomi stands up, looking as strong as ever. She waves her hand, and a lighting bolt strikes the animal. The bolts continue as it rapidly strikes the animal. It lays still as the smell of cooked meat fills the air. Naomi then staggers and falls over.

"Hmm.... The tissue will leave a scar, but it isn't fatal," the doctor says. We had gotten off at a station just outside of Liore, and got Naomi to a hospital. As we turn to leave, I notice something black on her bicep. I quietly shuffle over and roll it over. It was a tattoo of transmutation circle for storm Alchemy. That's how she was able to use alchemy without a circle.
"Cassandra, let's go," Mason says, beckoning me to follow. I catch up to him, and we head out into the town.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"WHAT?!?!?!" Mason yells. The blanket in Naomi's bed was drawn back, and her regular clothes were gone. The window was shattered, and burn marks outlined the frame.
"How? She was just here, and injured?!?" Mason rants to himself.
"Mason, calm down. We just have to go on a wild goose chase through a city with a population of a thousand plus. No biggie," I say sarcastically to him. Clearly he took it seriously, because he starts to set out. I blow a piece of my auburn hair out of my face, and follow him out the door.
