Youngjae brought his hand to his forehead and wiped a few droplets of sweat threatening to fall. "Why is it so hot?" He sighed.Youngjae had been working at this food truck for two months now. Sure, it's not the most glamorous job, but he was just a college student trying to get by.
Youngjae had been full of enthusiasm the first few weeks of working, being excited to start his first job. But as more weeks went by, the more he began to dread getting out of bed to go to work on a saturday morning.
The fact that it was in the middle of summer wasn't giving him any motivation either.
"One double cheeseburger and a medium diet coke."
"Okay, is that all?"
"Yeah."
"That'll be 8,500 won." Youngjae collected the cash from the man. He pushed a few buttons in the register and then inserted the money into the tray.
He gave the customer his change and then proceeded to go towards the back of the truck. He grabbed a warm double cheeseburger that was wrapped in silver tinfoil. Then, he grabbed a medium sized cup and filled it with ice and the man's desired beverage.
After slapping a cap onto it, and sticking in a straw, he made his way back to the front of the truck.
"Here you go, sir," he extended his hand which held the food and drink.
The man simpley took the items from Youngjae's hands and walked away.
Does anyone know how to say "thank you" anymore? Or any kind of manners?
He sighed and sat down in a chair he keeps inside the truck. Youngjae technically wasn't allowed to sit down on the job, but who could blame him. The streets looked like an urban wasteland, besides the occasional customer every thirty minutes.
Not even his good friends Kunpimook and Yugyeom would visit him on a day as hot as this.
Youngjae reached down to pick up a mini hand fan he had left on the floor. He began to fan himself, puffing a sigh of relief as his hair flew backwards.
"Excuse me?"
Youngjae practically fell out of his chair at the sudden voice, but quickly dusted himself off and stood up.
"H-Hi! Sorry, I didn't think I'd get another customer so soon." A light pink ran across his cheeks in embarrassment as he kept his head down.
"It's fine." The boy smiled, chuckling a bit.
When Youngjae finally looked up, he was awe struck.
This guy is gorgeous.
He cleared his throat, "So uh, what can I get you?"
" I think I'll just have a blueberry slushie."
"Okay, 3,000 won please."
The man dug out his wallet from his back pocket and pulled out the payment, handing it to Youngjae.
"Thank you," He smiled and put it into the register. "I'll be back."
