"Hold onto yours hats.." She had said with a mischievous grin.
"Well, first things first. Think of all the stories you know, folktales, fables, magic, fairytales. Most of the magical creatures and magics are real." She said casually, cutting to the chase.
Quill gulped.
A lot to take in.
She thought to herself. This, this whole thing, this whole scenario was a lot to take in.
"We," she swished a hand flimsily around the table, "Are elves."
North coughed, as if to reminder he of something.
"Well, North is a mixed-blood. Half human half elf, she's kind of our human expert." She added.
That explained her ears.. Quill mumbled inside her head,
"And Jake and I are mixed, as well, except we're half elf half faeries. Except we're each different kinds of faeries, Jakes a dragon-tamer type and I'm.. Well.. Well I don't quite know.." She said, kind of depressingly.
North patted her back, sympathetically.
Jake added in, "Hey, it's fine," he then turned to Quill, "Most faeries don't know their type until they're 13, and, uh, she's kinda been 13 for a while.." He frowned and turned back to Madi.
"I know, I know.." Madi sighed. "A-anyways, but we were raised for our early ears by human parents, not our real ones.. But.." She drifted off as she looked at Jake. His face had grown tense. His elbows were on the table, his lips a thin pink line. His fights were interlocked until his knuckles grew white.
"N-not for long," Jake continued for her, "Our, um, human parents died.. We were two..." He looked down, a fierce look plastered on his face.
The table grew silent.
Pike coughed.
Cypress stood up and beamed with a refreshing smile.
"Well, uh, how about we go sit in a more comfortable setting to tell the rest?" She said, attempting to change the depressing tone of the room.
Gladly, she had succeeded.
"Pike and I will go make some moruvor." North piped.
Pike turned red, blushing.
"W-we will?"
North strutted away, towards the magicks room in which Quill had drunk her purple tea, earlier.
"Well if you're too scared of just a few silly potions.." She teased.
"H-hey! Wait up, I bet I can kick your a--"
"Language."
The rest of us chuckled as Cypress lead us all through a couple more brick hallways towards a round, wood paneled dim room with a crackling fireplace and comfortable pillows and chairs strewn about it. Except, this time the fire was normal. Aside form the occasional embers that would seem to take the form of a small dragon and literally dance across the room.
We all took a seat on a pillow as talk spread about the room.
Cypress was talking with Madi,
Catching up, and whatnot.. Quill had thought.
Jake took a seat by Quill and flared a little grin.
"So," He said, "You're the famous "savior", huh?" He asked.
Quill raised her brow.
"S-savior?" Her words fumbled, as she started into his milky gray eyes.
Cute, milky gray eyes..
"Haven't you heard the prophecy?"
Curiosity bubbled up inside of Quill.
"N--" She began, but what cut by a loud screech.
Pike's screech.
"You moron!" Another screech bounded off the wall. Quill was sure it was North's.
"Here they go, again.." Madi sighed.
Suddenly, a "You scream like a girl!" Came from North.
We all bursted out with laughter,
Then, a whole laughing spasm started between the two, joining in with us, as their laughter and screams bounded off the walls.
"No, I do NOT!"
Then a crash of a glass plate slammed against the wall, and the clatter was heard from the round room, which Quill assumed was supposed to be reserved for North.
"HAH! You throw like a girl, too!"
"SHUT UP!"
Their footsteps scrambled down the hallway, followed by their crazy laughter, and then the both of them.
They ran into the room, Pike first, and he ran and hid behind Madi who rolled her eyes and grunted something along the lines of,
"Scaredy-cat.."
Then, seconds later we hear loud, stomping footsteps. Slowly, the sound of North's sneakers clicked against the wood hallway floors. Then, she entered the round room.
We all went completely silent as the room filled with numbness.
"I swear, to whatever God might be out there, I will kill you, Pike Evergreen." She said, loud and in a monotone voice.
She was covered, head to toe, in a green slimy substance. She unsheathed her sword.
"Might as well get the deed done, now." She said.
Pike screeched as we roared with laughter.
