"She's dead..." I whispered under my breath. As I layed on my bed, covered with blood.
I can't run away from it, it's too late.
I can't bring her back to life.
She was my only witness. She was my friend.
She had her trust on me. She gave her life on my hands.
But her life leaked away from my hands.
She was there, she saw them, and they killed her.
I am alone, lost, and shivering in my cold, dry thoughts.
All I could remember was her cold, dead body between my arms.
I was crying, harder and harder as each memory came into my mind, of her and me with a true smile.
I hugged her dead body crying as I said "I am am so sorry!!!"
Her precious blood was spilled into the cold floor, blood that leaked from her chest, and all was in vain.
It was spilling from her chest, onto my stone cold hands, as my tears fall on her cheeks.
I remember the day we meet.
It was 12:00 pm on a Friday night.
It was a moment where the lab let the other kids like me see each other and talked with each other.
I wasn't exactly one of those kids, I was just the daughter of the CEO in the lab. My father use to take me because through me kids speaked up and I would get the information for the scientist.
That day we were all at the playground, when men with black suits and with guns started shooting at all of the kids.
Nina was her name.
Nina was struggling to find shelter, while I was already hiding.
I called her name, and told her to come with me and hide.
The gunshots stopped, and we waited for 15 minutes.
Then we got out of are hidden place, and what we saw was dreading.
She gasped in horror, and I covered her eyes.
But they saw us, and pointed their guns at us.
I rapidly pushed us towards a wall to skip the bullets.
I looked for secure places to escape.
I founded a fire escape, but it was to high for us.
We ran as fast as we could and jumped to grab the floor of the fire escape.
Pling! It was the sound of a bullet who hit the metal of the fire escape.
The next thing we hear was "Okay, you can stop now."
The men and us two looked at the door, where all the kids that were supposed to be dead came out from cheering with happiness.
And out came with them my dad.
It was all a false warning if something like that would happen.
But she was still shaking.
"Maya? Maya!" I blinked as the government lady looked at me scared. I gave her this stone cold looked and said "What do you want from me, that I haven't all ready told to anybody else?" She looked at me and smiled "I want to know what you think, like becoming your friend." We were sitting on top of my bed, I was criss-crossed and she was sitting with one leg over the other at the edge of the bed. "I don't have friends, and I will never have." She tilted her head in confusion. I can't risk having a friend not after her. The room is full of metal and it was brighten by seven lights. Six on the walls, and one on the ceiling. I was wearing orange pajamas, like a delinquent. "Sweety," she said "what do I have to do in order to earn your trust?" "Getting me out of here." I said, I looked at her with a sharp stare as I said "I am tired of being treated as a science guinea pig." She laughed and said "You are not being treated as a guinea pig. They are just trying to know how your brain works." Then I asked her "Do you know the feeling when you are trapped in a hard and cold metal table? Stucked with handcuffs, being treated as a crazy person? Inserting you chemicals into you just for knowing how my brain works? That by the end of the section you are dreaming a nightmare?" The truth is that my memory of her hurts, that I have turned them into a dream. But that dream is a night mare. Her look on her face told me I hit a point. "Okay, that is all for now Maya see you later." She said as she stood up from my bed and walked down three stairs and up the six stairs that lead to the door. My bed is in the middle of the whole room, I haven't seen daylight over a year. As she got up to the last stair I told her "Oh! Tell them this, you can't know how it works." She looked at me, then she walked out that door and it got locked again.
I can't contain this any more.
Later by the afternoon I'll be out this room, this lab, and wherever I am for ever.
"Run Maya! Be careful with that tree..."
PUM! "Ow..."
"Trunk... jeje"
"Don't laugh! It's not my fault that I don't have wings!"
"Oh! Plumy girl... listen this is what I learned many years ago."
"Your 10 years old."
"Don't ruin it! Anyway, I learned that the forest will always be my home, because in here their is freedom."
"Only the forest?"
"Nope, actually I think nature."
"Why?"
"Silly, I already answered you."
